So whilst transiting from pub to pub down the Cowley road in Oxford I found this in a barbershop. Being quite a few beers in I decided to investigate and was sent to a nearby guitar shop where I was treated to a twenty minute soliloquy from the owner on the merits of the K series BMW, he did though take my number and promise to pass it to the owner. A week later and a phone call and I met up this morning with the owner and shook on £2200. I'm very happy with that. It whispered to me that it has always really wanted to be a mid 80's endurance replica. So, I figure the winter won't be much fun just sending off the Banshee parts to get the frame made so I'm going to do this instead and sell it in the spring leaving the Banshee motor and radiator in the spare bedroom for now. It is a 7/11, a very early 1985 750 frame and a 91 1127cc motor. I'm sure this period conversion will eventually be thought of as a kind of Triton of its day?? It does have a Spondon swing arm and an Ohlins shock, TL1000 front end. Plenty to do to make it black and gold... I had a ride out on it, the motor is strong and runs clean, very torquey. Front discs are warped which made me a little cross eyed and the steering is so steep with the TL front end you are trying to pull the thing back out of corners where the front end is falling in. Not a relaxing ride but ok for 100mph+ straight. I got loads of boring specs coming up as it comes apart... Like this a little maybe??
