I got a call today asking if I was interested in an older BMW R80, of course I am always interested, so I arranged to go see the bike, as it was not too far from me.

Well it turned out to be an 85 R80-RT, only two owners from new (father and son) and a genuine 26 thousand miles. Full BMWluggage, Taxed and tested, Stainless exhaust, new rear shock, and new coil. :evil

    So I bought it.:deal

As you can see it needs a clean, and some new fork gaiters, but that is all.:clap

Very nice score Kev. Are you adding it to your list, or cleaning up and selling on?

I am not one to make money out of friends if I can help it, so it was a good deal all round.

So my mate Ed caught a train from over on the east coast today, and I picked him up at the station, I then took him over to the guy selling the bike, so they could sort out the paperwork. This was the chance for Ed to say no thanks, but he didn't:cry so we started up the bike, paid the guy some cash, he had only done ten miles since May! he had also fitted a new battery:deal

Then Ed rode off the 150 miles home
    :clap:clap:clap

If when he gets home, he doesn't like the bike, then I shall give him the money for it.

I found a 96 1100 rt last month on Craigslist for 750$. I drained 1/2 gallon of water from the tank and sold it for 3500$, 2 years ago I picked up a 68 r60 for 3500 and got 7500 for it. Another Craigslist find.
