Is this the new paint scheme on the KTM 990 Adventure? Looks pretty darn close.

knew a guy like this. a couple actually. one wouldn't sell a thing, the other ran a proper junk yard, way off the highway so lots of really great, very old sheet metal out there, kept in an arid climate. so, the second old guy kicks it, his daughter gets the place, sells everything as scrap. and what, 300 cars, 2 huge metal buildings full of parts, hubcaps, badges, hood ornaments. most of the car bodies were queens with good glass, empty engine compartments, sunfucked interiors, but really solid, surface-rust-only queens. they were crushed, stacked on a tractor trailer and gone in a week. all the hotrod guys, body guys in town knew this was going on, went out to talk to the daughter, she wasn't there. she was living in the midwest, the crusher guy was on contract and didn't have the authority to sell and his boss wasn't real interested in putting the local car guys in touch with her (he wanted in and out as quickly as possible).

    it was a sad sight,

Anyone remember the Pontiac Tempest Super Duty ebay auction?

    http://www.clickondetroit.com/automotive/18185917/detail.html#

IIRC the seller was listing it for a neighbor or friend and had no idea what it was worth. It was interesting to follow the auction and read the comments as people eventually clued him in. He was even accepting Paypal at the beginning of the auction. :lol3

That looks an awful lot like Gary Sassi's President Speedster.

Finest home-grown restoration I've ever laid eyes on.

Tinks I've seen it to, I think its a Fiero kit car, never stopped to eye ball it though. It looks short for a Countach and not really wide enough.

There was a body shop in Sherwood, when I was in H/S he had a pair of Countach's sitting there.

    ...and mine!

Biggest regrets I have are not seein the old Eldos in the yard (and the 64 Datsun P-ups, and...) restored and running. Dad's health (girth) precluded a lot of stuff in his latter years.

A fiero kit car would make more sense in that neck of the woods. I guess I can give it the ol' ADV salute instead of a wave now, huh? :lol3

My dad has 3 1960 Cadillac Coupes with less than 20K on the clock sitting in his barn. 2 white, one black. Last time one was drove? My 1984 High school graduation.

Also has a 1969 Electra 225 (4 door :cry ) that was bought on my 3rd birthday, with less than 70K. An 80 buick LeSaber convertible with 40K, a 74 Buick Riveara with a 455 Stage 1 (non GS :cry ) with less that 80K. He has a 1992 24 Ft. Bayliner (cheap) open bow, that has been in the water twice, and a really cool 1956 Oliver Super 55 Diesel (I guess the diesel version is rare.)
