It's been about ten years since I was at Canyon De Guadalupe. What a neat spot. I was just thinking yesterday how much I'd like to do a MC trip out there one of these days. I'm curious to hear how the place is these days.

Good luck! It sounds like a great trip.

    Hey Paul,
Cool, I'll bet April is beautiful ... we're looking forward to a long, cold hard ride to get south of the border ... brrrr! When you get back in April you can do a Death Valley Thanksgiving and Baja road report ... ha! :D

    Hey Nixels,
Brave words from an inmate with no bike ... there's a KLR in your future ... embrace the idea! :ricky

    Hi Cabrito,
We were last there in 2009 ... how time flies! They had just had a huge fire on the north side of the canyon, but it was already making a nice come-back ... here's a couple of pics ... You can get some scale of the big warm pool from Cary on the left hand side ... and a pic of the water crossing coming out ...

And a pic of a Horsepower Tour of open wheel, Mazda engined buggies ... quite a scene ... you can see one of the valve covers of the flat-four engine in the rear of the buggies ...

I have a friend who's trying to make a reservation for after Christmas and has been told it's going to be crowded ... we're just going to roll in ... if we can't get one of the campsites with a private hot pool, I'm sure they will let us camp somewhere, and we'll just enjoy the big pool ...

    see you around the campfire,

    Hello everyone.
I've found a set of wheels online that I'd love to buy, but the seller won't ship them. They're located in San Jose. Would anyone in the area be willing to pick them up and ship them to me? Of course I'll be happy to cover the cost of your time, gas money, packaging, etc., in addition to shipping charges.
    Thanks!

The wheels were on ebay & the auction ended this evening. Unfortunately someone else wanted them a little more than I did. Thanks for the offers to help, I really appreciate it!

Looks like Monday morning we'll be starting the long way to Baja. Here's 2 links to follow our progress. If you check them now you'll either see a blank map or an error message because there's no tracks yet...

The first link is simple to remember: www.hardworkingdog.whereamiriding.com
    (Thanks, Strega!)

The other link has annoying ads from Spot but the map has much better zooming capability in satellite mode: http://share.findmespot.com/shared/faces/viewspots.jsp?glId=0Ha6jneFTDaIyu0Z4gqf1Hj2EgMacWQOJ

    Wish us luck :ricky

Thanks Ramjet 'n 'jammer! This was a hard time to try and get ready for a trip like this, but we're there, finally. Got a headache from all the last minute details, and I'm still not sure whether to go full coverage or liability only :norton gonna get up in the morning and make that decision, and wait for the frost to melt...
