Sure. My wife and I accidentally took that road in our 68 Camaro going from Hwy 1 to 101. We didn't have enough fuel to turn back, so we rally raced the whole thing pretty hard Dukes of Hazard style. Just before we reached 101, the 6x9 speakers fell into the trunk because the bolts had rattled loose.:eek1

It has been a couple of years, but at the time there was quite a bit of washboard. On a bike, you could probably drive around it better than we did. Nothing too rough though.

Dug around and found this thread. Guess it's time to resurrect it again in hopes there's updates and some new routes. I tend to prefer to head north in to Marin and Sonoma counties.

I've seen Mendocino mentioned a couple times, and that's pretty accessible by my standards. What've people got up there that's either goaty, dirty, or good for a beginner dualsport rider?

:y0!Low Gap Road is fun, also Sherwood Road out of Ft. Bragg is one of my favorite roads up there. These have probably already been mentioned around here but they are a little north of the Bay Area.

Next time I head up that way, I'll try to check both out. Buddy of mine and I discussed doing a ride around there in mid August.

Yes, but there isn't much to talk about once you get past the off road vehicle parks.

Come out here to the Sierras. There are lots of good choices. I still have a big list of dirt roads I need to try out.

Yep. I'm still figuring out this whole dirt thing. So far all I can really tell is that the bike is big, the wheels (Scorpion A/Ts) aren't right for the random bits of dirt I do encounter.

New tires are going on, just to better handle the odd mix of gravel and hardpack that's around here.

Yes,I camped at Hendy Woods recently, its nice with BIG Redwood trees right in campsites.
There's a Mexican place just down the road towards Boonville, maybe 2 miles from Hendy. Food was good, very friendly family run place.

Also Bob at www.ironmandualsport.com has some rides coming up,he caters to all levels of riders and puts on great rides.

Anyone know of some small dirt roads in Fremont? I'm looking to simply practice riding slow and handling in dirt. So I really don't need anything long or fancy.

This should be it. PM me if you can't find it.
