Wow! That sure is a transformation. ^^^
Love it- thanks for posting. The GT80 was my preferred weapon back when I was eight- this pic would be from the mid-seventies. :)
I took a picture of a GS 1000 wire wheeled , single disc bike just like this at Daytona in 1979. It had just qualified for the Daytona 200 .
The only external mods I could discern were a 4 into 1 pipe , a cut down seat and stripping off lights and mirrors. They ran it with no fairing , just number plates . It also finished .
The Sherpa is finally done ... :

Damn, that Laverda is great looking, so much I'd love to have an orange one in my stable. But this color looks great too!
I love this thread...no more posts?
1974 RD350 for my brother.
Holy Shit this is amazing!
Here's my latest. Before:
'72 xl250 motosport - here i've just finished removing the rear wheel/suspension/swingarm for service and paint. pls excuse the crude counterweight, didn't want the ol' girl to fall over. 22K miles, great compression, unmolested wiring but needed a kickstarter pinion gear. resides under the right cover, easy. a cool bike, with magnesium engine side covers, DID aluminum rims, 2 position suspension, single Keihin carb feeding a 4 valve head.
done, and running great! she had a full strip and mechanical service then sanded/painted the fenders, exhaust, swingarm, and all the brackets. left the tank alone, as i'll crash for sure.
Very cool/clean XL250,
I had a 74. Love to find another.
