    lookin on fleabay,

i see garmin 76, garmin etrex venture, garmin etrex summit.garmin etrex legend. they are all under 200 bucks.

which one would be the best for exploring, with sealed roads and fire trails/dirt roads. and adding a good map of australia.

also, on the subject of maps, the only one i really can find is australian topo for like 199bucks. is there a good cheaper one than this.

I'll vote 76Cx. It's the best of the lot you've listed. They're all waterproof but the 76 series floats. (never know when your island might sink :D)

I will add that the "x" versions are much more desirable then the non "x".

    awesome, thanks.

    I clicked the link, and then chose Australia 250k mapset. then i clicked "visit Australa 250k mapset", and it gives me: [IMG]NameLast modifiedSizeDescription[IMG]Parent Directory- [IMG]CHANGELOG.html13-Apr-2011 14:24 934 [IMG]high_res/01-Feb-2012 09:55 - [IMG]screenshots/01-Feb-2012 09:55

do i go into the high res folder and download all the maps i want, then put them on an sd card or something? im a little confused. are these shonkymaps or are they something different?

sorry but this is a first for me.
