OK. Some of the bikes on this thread are just hideous. I don't think that I can come up with just ONE bike as the best looking of all time. I sure do like looking at this one though..........

I love the SRX-6. Almost bought one new. But every time I look at it I can't help but think how much better it would look if the frame tubes had been round.

And I agree with Mr. Leno. So no, I don't particularly care for fully faired bikes, though some of them do look pretty nice. This is more along the lines of what pleases my eye.

We all know that there are cables, wires and oil lines in there, but they are neatly run so as not to be obtrusive. And it doesn't have half a dozen cable ties right out in the open holding things in place but breaking up the lines of the frame. It's simply a tidier looking package than the Monster IMO.

Like I said, the Monster is a great bike. It just doesn't appeal to ME visually. But I'm happy you're enjoying the bike that is your top pick. That's the important part.

    I'll be nice...but...

Some of these suggestions had me checking the date of the posts to make sure they were not done on April 1st...I was waiting for the Ducati Indiana to show up....

I'll go with the Commando, 1st generation 900ss, early 70s 750GT, early Harley as all for sure in the top 25 or so. How about a BMW R-32?

To be fair, there's the caveat of "what bike would you like to be known for" which changes the arc of answers greatly.

I don't think the VFR700/750 is the greatest looking bike ever, but if I were to be known as "Kraven, the VFR750 guy" I'd wear that badge proudly.

i don't know what it is and it doesn't matter anyway but while the rest of us were laying around choking our chickens this dude was doing some riding . that makes this bike ( whatever it may be ) the best looking bike of all time .

:lol3 this thread went in the shitter on the first page. Don't know why the OP thought it would be any different from the last one.

My partial list with no pictures because I'm lazy:

    Norton Commando

    Triumph Bonneville

Earlier VFR series/NR750/RC30/etc. The third gen VFR750 is probably my favorite 750 street bike. I own a fourth gen, which is quite nicely styled IMO, but the headlights goofy looking from the front.

    Ducati 900ss

    Ducati 848

Triumph daytona 675 (especially the newest models...WOW)

There are more I can't think of at the moment.

Umm.... that isn't a 907... The two tone paint is the first clue, along with the "906" on the fairing. :D

    This is a 907
    [IMG]

I'm guessing most people will say "whatever" but these are likely the same people that can't see the difference between a '67 and a '69 Camaro either. There are differences between all three versions of the "Paso" (a name I don't think the factory ever used for the 907?) And yes, that one is mine. My first bike, bought new in '91 and currently stashed in my basement awaiting it's reintroduction to the real world.

Best looking roadbike of all time? It doesn't exist. A bike can be "One of the best" at most.

Nice to see another photo that belongs here. The best looking road bike of all time is saying a lot. Many of the bikes look nice but aren't anywhere close to best looking.

Tastefully modded with ZRX/ZX11 top end bits, chain drive, and the biggest goddamn turbo that the motor will spool. It runs on dead puppies and third world injustice, rips great bloody gashes in the ozone layer and is followed close behind by an apocalyptic cloud of burnt rubber and a wall of sound. Form politely tells function to bugger off, and the whole lash up is surrounded by an invisible cloud of dread and hate.

It's really hard to beat a bevel drive Ducati as being the "Real" best looking road bike. Although I'm much too tall to ever ride one, it's a thing of beauty to behold. It's got my vote.

Yes, there are so many overlapping aspects to our emotional reaction to motorcycles that it is truly difficult to separate out the purely visual aspect of it. Our knowledge of a bike's heritage, character and significance contributes to or detracts from our ability to appreciate its form.
