Ok, got my brand new 606s mounted front and rear. So we need to hit up some open desert. Is the meeting place north of the 210? The weather should be perfect.

I cheated, I've been sick and working outside in the rain every night. So I just took the whole bike to the mc tire works. Was a little more expensive but I don't have any bloody knuckles. And I got the wheels balanced, what a difference balanced knobbies make. I can't wait to ride! The conditions are perfect

Erwin. Be at my place at 7:15am. It will take about 15 minutes to load up my bike. That will give us a plenty of time. Ben

FYI re region you are riding Suday...I was up in the Lytle Creek area this am. No snow. Very windy at the 15 and Sierra north. Lytle Creek Rd closed at Glen Helen to anyone but residents. Lytle Creek Rd that parallels the 15 closed due to heavy equipment in the area approaching the Valero station from the south. The gate to the trail off Glen Helen and north of Lytle Creek was open much to my surprise...I was unable to ride it given I was on my 950 with worn rear Scorpion. Wish I had my XR4 instead. Should be good riding Sunday.

    Hey Ben,

I am looking forward to it. Which dirt tire would you recommend? I have 3,500 miles on stock Scorpions so far.

im hearing dunlop 908 on the rear and dunlop 606 on the front for those big bikes. thats the best knobbie combo thats dot legal. i run the 606's on my DR650. 908 is a heavy bike tire and will last better on a 990. still a pur knobbie though

    Merry Christmas you guys !

    +1

There's a Staples and a Target at the Summit Ave exit off the 15, just north of the 210.

If you're gonna do mostly dirt: D908 rear and D606 front. If you're gonna be doing a lot of adventure touring or need longer tire life the MEFO SuperExplorer for the rear and the Explorer for the front are hard to beat.

It all depends on Ben, Rider and others here...
If they set up rides every weekend I'll do a lot of off-road. ;)

Hababam. Roundtrippng is right about the tires. If you look around on the western forums you can find a ride almost every weekend.
