I was photographing lupines in Maine Thursday. And today mountain laurel here in PA!
    IMG_4922.JPG

It is slightly past it's peak, but still beautiful to see covering the hillsides!
It's a bitch to walk thru when hunting, but early to mid June makes up for it.
    :D
Did about 85 miles thru BESF, maybe a little over 20 on pavement. Numerous chippies, one groundhog... and one deer!
    A good day!

Ridge Road is one of my favorites. Plenty of vistas to stop and take a look at as well

That looks like you could make a pretty big loop combining those two.
I followed Montour Rd on the map from 120.... but never came to 5 points. Montour ends at Trout Run rd according to Google. ???

I got the big bike out today for the first in over a month. Forgot how damn heavy it is!!!
Discovered going into Sproul that the mountain laurel was still pretty nice.... and more pink than last week.

    IMG_4960.JPG

I think they cut the sides of the road back further than what I remember, good sight lines thru the curves, and the laurel sure loves the extra sunlight.
Came around one curve, there was a hen turkey on the berm, maybe 2' off the pavement at the most!!! She froze, I went by....all was good!
Stopped out at the big rock to stretch and take a few pics. People have been busy with their creativity!

Heard a couple bikes coming so got ready and caught these two enjoying the great weather!

Howdahell do you post more than 4 photos here????????

    Anyway....here's the 2nd one.

    IMG_4958.JPG

I passed maybe 7 bikes on this GREAT piece of road... maybe too far between watering holes for most?
    And that's fine by me.
    Another pic of the rock....

If you ever get over towards the Snow Shoe side of Sproul check out Wolf Rd., Wolf Trail, Panther Road and State Line Road. They are nice short roads. There is a gate on Wolf Run Supply Road but I think it is south of State Line Road. It should be clear on the north side of State Line Rd. Panther Road will take you into Kato. I think the new bridge is open to get to the east of Beech Creek, or you can do the water crossing. I haven't been east of Beech Creek since 2012 I think. Lots of places to explore over there. Someday when I can get some time to ride while at camp I will PM you to try to meet up.

Last November, madmaximum and I rode State Line and Panther, maybe Wolf too. He was leading and had the GPS so not sure. We did come across a new bridge near a CCC site at Kato, probably the one you're talking about. I put a few pics here if you go back to November. I rode DeHaas Rd from 144 to Orviston coming home yesterday.
Let me know when you're here with a bike, lots of places to explore!

Thanks for the pics. Florida still sucks. Just a note off track. Is the truck stop still at the Snow Shoe exit. Used to be a restaurant there, back in the 70's.

    Yes, still there. How good???
I've stopped at the IGA, they have a Subway, and gotten lunch to carry along.
Since there's not a helluva lot of choices beyond there!!!
