I have avon distanzia's on my bike. They were on the bike when i bought it at 12,000 miles and now there is 18,000 and still look really good. I have had no troubles with them and grip really well on the road and have no worries in the rain. They also handle the few gravel roads that i seem to wander down every so often :)

I've had K60 scouts on for about 2k+ miles and noticed a hum in the front when they were new. I haven't noticed any slippage on wet roads or loose grade, although I am not a GS knee dragger type. I don't notice any hum now, I have probably gotten immune to it. Great tires would buy they again, and again.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" />
I would think it’s a same to put a full tour tire on a GS.

I am also a HD rider and the GS with K60’s STILL ride 10x smoother then my rumble bucket with Dunlops

My favorite is the Anakee II closely followed by the (old) Tourance. Don't get the Tourance EXP!

Not trying to hijack the thread but since the Shinko Raven was already mentiond:
I've got a '99 R1100R that is the limited edition with the wire wheels. Same size wheels as the GS I believe.
The bike came to me with Dunlop Sportmax radials and the rear is in need of replacement.
I've been thinking about trying the Shinko Raven but they don't offer an exact match to the size that's currently on there. Current size is a 150/70-17 and the closest that I could get the Raven in is a 160/60-17.
Think it will work on this wheel and bike?

I've ran the Tourances EXP's and the Anakees 2 on the GSA, for me both work fine for being... maybe an 80 / 20 tire. A buddy of mine likes the non - EXP's, TKC's and the Shinko's - he also does a lot more gravel than I do. When asked about running a set of PR3's on the GSA... I got this kind of look...:huh

:D

The new 'waterhead' thread had shown the Anakees 3... :D; so.... I had to write Michelin and ask about the release date and here is their response:

I'd say dunlop tr91.

Best dual sport tire i've ever owned. It has even more grip on the wet than on the dry. amazing thing!
