KTMtalk and other KTM sites are a great source of info on the RFS engine since it was manufactured by KTM. Those guys will be glad to help you get it sorted. I am very impressed with the Betas but am unfamiliar with the RFS.

I had a guy come to NY/Ct line from Mobile Alabama to buy a DRZ400S from me. That is crazy. He hit a deer in Pa that wiped out his car. I kinda miss that bike.

Too much in my opinion. Call one of your Beta dealerships and ask for a demo bike. I found a 2010 520RR with 70 miles on it for the same price. It was perfect. Check with Scott at Motoconnection in Vt. He can ship it to you for $300.

    Well worth the price. :clap

Well I got my GasGas XC250 and Beta 520 RR loaded up on my trailer for a day of riding at Kentuck ORV Park near Anniston, AL.

I am going to see how the Beta handles when compared to my 2T GasGas. The GasGas sits a lot and I may only ride it 2 or 3 times a year since it is not street legal in GA.

I suspect with my meager skill level that the Beta will do nicely for my occasional ORV rides. If that is the case I think I will be selling the GasGas.

If I could get a Beta like that for 5K I would be on the phone closing the deal.
Being in Boise we are kind of isolated from a lot of other big city's...so driving 300 miles for a good deal on a good bike is ....necessary.

Congratulations on a great deal on a beautiful bike! :clap
    Yes I am jealous.:D

I did the longest one-day car drive of my life to buy my Beta... from Brooklyn to St. Albans, VT (700 miles round trip). And, it was winter, so there was snow on the roads up north, which slowed me down even more.

I HATE long car drives, but it was worth it.

Here's part of our ride this past Monday...It was a beautiful day and my 09' 525 RS still brings a smile to my face.. There's no editing here.. just raw footage ...just warning ya.. 4 of us went riding.. yz 125 40yrs old, 2002 ktm 300 48 yrs old, Beta 525 RS 53 yrs old and 07 ktm 200 58 yrs old. Four guys having fun like young kids.. We had a blast and it was funny when it was over watching each one of us cramping up in different parts of our bodies.. We basicly rode for a few hours until our water was just about gone .. Not much stopping with 4 guys with relatively similar speed so it's a decent workout.. No speed demon stuff but there was a lot of other technical stuff not shown ..

You can't tell but there's some cliff action just a few feet over to the right.. and left .. but it's wide enough to just throw the bike down.. very steep so just don't let any momentum happen..

    .just tight stuff...

    Hello!

I finally got my Adv rider approval after many months of lurking. I have been a motocross guy for most of my life, but the injuries are starting to pile up. I purchased an used '11 520 RS from the local shop service manager. I managed to get quite a few miles in before breaking my foot on the MX track... I may never learn :rofl

I have the supermoto wheels and the dirt set up. I did take it on a pretty spirited DS adventure with the sumo wheels, and I was quite impressed. I can't wait to put even more miles on it, and get into some light ADV style riding!

Nice ride Northy! Looks like my 2010 400. I still like the plastics and graphics on the 2010 models best myself. But all Betas look good to me! Welcome to the ADV asylum :norton

Just took it for a little ride last night. It is set up for a 130# rider (the owners wife who had a FE570 - they just got new TE250's) I am around 230#. I never used more than 1/4 to 1/3 throtle. I also rode up washboard that would cause my DR650 to hop and slow......did not even notice it. I really wanted a Beta to match my Beta trials bike, but am really happy with the FE450. :deal
