Tis indeed mr rabbit, just over the bridge from you in sunny South Wales. I'm in the middle of some minor maintenance/getting to know the bike type jobs at the moment, so the bike is stripped naked while I get it to my liking.
The way the insurance companies are struggling to find the bike on thier systems I've got a few months yet before I need to get it ready :pain

I had the same issue with my Beta......Was previously insured with Carole Nash and they could not find Beta listed so I told them it was the same a KTM and the following day the underwriters excepted at no increased premium.

Whats that Beta like?.....I did see it about 4wks.....Apparently the previous guy didn't have much of an idea about bikes...looked in good shap tho!
Mine is identical but with Beta race graphics and soon to be red side panels...

I ended up with eBike and *think* it is insured as the correct bike. Some insurers only had a 50cc variant listed :dunno and some that did list wanted it keyed.

It was a pain though and had me real worried when I had just got it. I did call Lampkins and ask if people were having problems generally and they didnt seem to think it was an issue. Hopefully more will get the lists correct.

It's great to see more interest in these bikes, mine is my first thumper so it's hard for me to comment on much but I really like it. I am hoping to get a reference together of cross-over parts so if anyone comes up with anyhting, post up.

Yeah.. the dealer is one of the largest in sales for KTMs in the states and owns the popular KTM forum. they were really great with their service. but I'm sure KTM had something to do with it too.

I haven't gotten around to getting insurance .. so I'm looking forward to dealing getting hasseled by my insurance company.. I'm just going to send them links to american beta so they can get a picture of the bikes.

Here is another option for the rock hard seat that comes stock on the beta

Guts racing seats are awesome.. I have a tall seat and cover on my XR650R that has been on the bike for 4 years with no issues and still looks good

    in addition

Speed Graffix makes full decal kits as well as pre-printed backgrounds for the beta.. you will need to call them to discuss but they have made them for the 08 betas for a local race team.

another note.. If you guys in the UK or europe need any help shipping these products across the pond.. just pm me and I can help

Had my 450 rr 2005 since Nov last year, bought it as a cheap KTM as running on a tight budget, but loving this ride, it is a much better bike than the KTM 450 EXC (especially the 2001 I could have bought for the same money). Can't understand why they are not much much more popular?

I would like to take the beta 125 2 stroke trials bike and put a tall seat on it. And that would be an awesome trail bike.

I used this same ratio on my 450 too....Absolutely perfecto...

    I love my beta......

If the marketing was better in UK, KTM would have a lot to worry about....so much to say they would stop supplying RFS engines:rofl

Few Beta pics from Dakar 2009 - 450RRs. 2000kms+, 700 to nearly 5000m, mostly dunes, rock passes or canyons, crosscountry high desert scrub , disimproved roads and bit of tar. Great bikes - numerous flats, a bit of overheating (the desert was hot - imagine) some sluggishness at altitude -but otherwise they made us appear better riders than we were.

Photoboy: Why are they not more popular - they are more so elsewhere. They have very limited production and distribution. But I've seen many more Betas than I've seen Aprilia or Benellis. About the same as 'Bergs - which makes sense. They are Italian - and that puts many people with mechanical backgrounds off straight away. Not warranted, but I understand.

Good to see this thread still sort of alive :lol3

I am parting with my Beta as I am not riding much now, but I will be very so to see it go.

So as White Rabbit says good bye to the 400RR, British Beefy says hello to the same bike :)
