I second the save the new one. I remember replacing a new one on a `97 and in less than 10 minutes I broke it! I just sold a 96 that was my sons. Had the rear fender zipped tied for two years, probably cost me about two dozen zip ties!:D

Yea, the broke fender is already drilled for zip ties. The seller must have told me 5 times to not replace the fender. I do plan to get a fender while I can and stash it. But... part of me wants to fix it as I have restored many bikes and hate to leave things broken...

OE exhaust back on it ---

Picked this up in December 2011. I grew up riding enduro, but this is harder = no seat!

Keep an eye on your gas tank vent. They clog up and bike will start and run great for 10 minutes then leave you a mile in the woods kicking and swearing.

This bike runs good but shows its wear. I'm told this was Geoff Aarons' minders bike! looks like hell compared to your bikes!

Mine has wrong year fender as well. 97's had gray front fenders.

Yea, it cut out on me when I test rode it and the seller told me to leave the cap on loose. I replaced the cap with the OE one off my 450EXC. Fits perfect.

I ride trail with 3 guys on Beta 450 great bikes but I like orange. :evil

Good pic. Wow three Betas! Mine is the only one in the state of Ct. You need to put your Beta in your sig line w/ your other bikes!

Now I know where to get my gas cap! Thanks!

When I whack it good on a jump over a log the RPMs stay high when I land and I'm off the throttle. Is this normal due to the large flywheel? I have never riden another trials bike.

It has a 27.5 pilot and a 145 main jet. Anyone know if this sounds right? I think it's a little lean. But it starts great and the fan only cycles on 30% of the time.

Check for main bearing wear on any 2T which continues to run on a closed throttle, as wear in the mains will mean the crank seals will let in air and the bike will keep running. Most are under the mistaken view that you only need to change the seals, but if there is any play in the bearings whatever this will be a complete waste of time.

Bit of a thread dredge but I just picked up a Techno 250. Great bike though I almost looped it riding up some stairs tonight. Even in 2nd with a whiff of throttle it will stand on the back wheel while going up stairs.

Now I need to find a owners manual and figure out what the oil ratio is and what to run, but I don't want to start an oil thread. We all know that leads to dark places

I run 80:1 using top quality full syntetic 2T oil. For gas I mix 110 octain race fuel 50/50 with 93 octain premium.

I have been trail riding mine this fall on crazy hard trails. I have put a ton of hours on it with no issues. So much less work to maintain than my KTM 4T.

Just stay away from Alcohol blended fuels. In my experience, alcohol in 2stroke mix, makes microballs of oil/water that fouls jets... your mileage may vary.

Good idea on where you have the Wolfman bag mounted. Got a side on or other pics of what I presume is a seat pad behind that?

    Stunning looking riding area too.

The Woffman fender bag has 100' of rope in it. Which I needed last Sunday. Note to self --- trying to jump a log laying at a 45* angle on a steep hillside is a bad idea. The skid plate hit the high side of the log and sent me over the hill.

I had a plastic oil bottle full of fuel in the Woffman but sometimes ended up sitting on it and feared it would pop open.

The dirty white wedge is a seat of good foam I use for kayak seats. It is just on with Velcro. Actualy very comfortable and the subframe takes my weight fine. Just enough to give your legs a break on the easy section. I did 30 miles of hard trail with 2 liters in my backpack. I'm getting 6 miles per liter.

The little handlebar pack just has a rain jacket. No weight. I have given it up as it just gets in the way for as little storage...
