I got stopped by a NFS ranger in the pea green blazer on Sat. I had come over Peavine Mtn. down where the BRP meets the James River near Snowden, VA. I was on state Rt. 130 when I passed him.

I knew I wasn't speeding, so when he pulled out with his lights on I was surprised. I pulled off at the entrance to the Parkway and he said he couldn't see my tag when I went by. Then he asked if that plate went with this bike and if I had been past any locked gates today. I said sure the tag matched the bike and I had the registration in my backpack. I wanted to be a smartass and say I had been through numerous locked gates, but I figured my outdated inspection sticker and nonworking breaklight might become an issue then, so I said no Sir! Did he think I was a idiot and what would he have done if I had said yes?

So, did this guy just have nothing to do on a beautiful Sat. or is this a sign of hightened NFS enforcement in VA?? We'll see as the season developed.

    NFS rangers are pricks...

The had a stakeout set up at Edinburg gap a couple of years ago. I was my first time out on that trail so I didn't know which way to go at a fork in the road. One way had a small 6x4 sign on a tree that said the road was closed, which of course was the one I chose, a little ways down I spotted a guy on a 4 wheeler, asked him for some directions, and he just yells out "Roads Closed!" He was dressed up like a hunter so I thought he was pissed that I was out in his woods or something, but he turned out to be undercover NFS.

I got a $100 ticket for driving on a closed road.

Should have said "No sir, I have the master key".:D I'll bet he would have gone ballistic!

Thats a compliment! The older I get the less respect I have for ANY law enforcement. Most, not all, but most are just control freaks(with a gun) just looking to harass someone.

I dono. I've had more good experiences than bad. Some are grumpy, but that's about the worse I've seen with my 10-12 run ins.

Jeez, Gary, calm down. We don't want to have to visit you in the pen!

I've seen good and bad among LEOs. The Park Rangers are a little different, because they are there to specifically catch us doing what we love doing, when we're not playing by the rules. Just be nice, and hope they are nice back.
