I like the concept, but no one will have time to read it. A more elegant solution might be to issue KOM 'crown' patches that riders could sew onto their t-shirts. That way, if I see someone approaching me with fifty yellow patches on his shirt, I'll know it's Donnie Harries and get the hell out of his way. :lol3

They are still learning with carbon. They (big companies) are constantly trying to cut cost as well, which tends to fuck things up with carbon....

Keep in mind most carbon frames are not actually made by the company that puts the stickers on. There are only a few manufactures making most of the frames.

Wasn't too bad (but I really do need some better gear) and a cold ride in New England is still better than any ride in Florida :D

OK, so I am not going to be able to ride today :cry However, I did almost run over a guy on a bike with my 4,000 pound car! :eek1

I was waiting about 12 cars back at a red light, on a road with 8 lanes. 3 going either direction, and where I was there were two turn lanes as well. Anyway, my light has been green for a while, but I am still waiting for everyone in front of me to go. The guy I am behind starts to go, so I do as well. And then SLAM my brakes! In the split second between the guy in front of me going, and me starting to go, a guy on a shiny red bike pulls between us going across all 8 lanes! He is commuting from work I would guess because of his attire and the backpack he had, but had racing shoes and clipless pedals :huh He was basically duck-walking the bike through the 8 lane road. It was a wonder I didn't hit him, or anyone else.

I try to always watch for bikes and motorcycles; but come on, I did not expect one to be right there!

Been a few hours for me. 2:01 and 27mi of road and gravel with a coupla sumbeeching hills thrown in. All in all, a good time despite how torqued my legs were when I started.

...I knew it was gonna be an interesting day when my buddy takes off like a shot at the bottom of the first hill. That'd be within 10min of putting cleats into pedals.

I get from him later 'Man! I just HAD to go for that KOM.' :rolleyes Uhh yeah, no warmup, after computrainer class last nite and you eff your legs for the rest of the ride. Smooth move ex-lax. :norton 'Course, said buddy's not too bright, so whaddya want. :dunno

While I admire your reference material, we're talking CF, where one would have to consider layup practices. Secondly, the torsion they're referring to is in twisting the length of the member, stationary supported, at both ends. We're talking about torsion in a bicycle frame, not an individual tube, and CF, not steel.

Dude, you really take things too far.

    Profit margins.

Naw, if I'd taken it too far, I would have pointed out that what you're referring to more closely approximates lateral deflection rather than torsion, and in either case you'd be wrong. :lol3 Feel free to do some googling of your own. I've done enough structural engineering coursework not to need to. :deal

Yes. Lateral deflection of the toptube and torsion of the entire frame.

The rest, we'll agree to disagree.

2hrs on the mtn bike today. Since my buddy has a Garmin he can tell me that we averaged 5mph. :lol

Can you say 'toodle?' I can. The goal for the day was to not break a sweat. Pretty well managed that.

I was out scouting trails for the hash I'm haring on Dec 23rd if any of y'all wanna come out to Nokesville and run (yes, I said run) thru my local patch of woods.

Had the flu/crud all week, but today was too nice to waste indoors. Got out for 9miles of single track at 7 mph avg. Only hacked up a couple of phlegm balls. Passed a guy with a leaf blower clearing the trails.:clap He got in some miles today.:rofl
