Long day in the kids garage today. Part way thru I grabbed a photo. [IMG]
We got most of the ceiling taped. Two long joints to finish tomorrow after our fill dries and some sanding. We should be able to paint the bar wall and get the mirror up.
Once we paint the ceiling we can move the sectional back in.

Raining and snowing up here in the mountains today so we had a wrenchfest to get the bikes ready for a Fruita trip next weekend :thumb

Fresh paraffin on the chain - I love how clean the drivetrain stays not using chainlube:

Ben’s new bike just flipped 200 miles so we went through it in detail making sure everything is perfect:

My riding buddy beat me on the climb up our standard route on Friday. That will not do. I will be throwing everything I have at it tomorrow morning. Then time to prep my Willard for cross duty in the upcoming weeks.

Rode in Nisene Marks State Forest and Soquel Demonstration Forest today with Joe, 21 miles 3800'. Joe's a cat2 CX racer, usually wins or podiums. Kicked my ass up every climb I returned the favor on every decent. Fun times !!

My bikes are only clean like that once and that's the day before they get into my hands.

Umm and will you adopt me, I need a garage like that! I'm surprised it's not insulated?

The server racks mining crypto currency keep it plenty warm lol. (My buddies refer to the server rack as the Worlds Most Expensive Shop Heater (tm) :rofl )

You can see it in the far corner of this pic:

... but yeah, I put the windows in this summer so insulation and drywall are on the todo list.

The windows really made it a pleasure to be in there and the view doesn’t suck when you are standing at the work bench:

The problem is I have 485968438 other projects going on so working on the shop is low on the totem pole. It only took me 3 years to find time to install the windows :photog

    You guys are BRUTAL! :lol3

On a less hilarious note, I think my 2.75 year old Golden retriever blew out the tendon in her knee AGAIN Friday night. I was throwing her tennis ball for her and everything was fine, we went to dinner and when we came back she was hopping around on three legs again :cry. I think I can feel the broken tendon in her knee... This is the same one we spent $4000 getting repaired six months ago. She just takes it in stride but it devastates my wife and I to see her have to go through this shite again.

Sorry to hear about your pup :( Ours did that too.

If you can, shop around a bit. We were quoted $3500-$4000 at several vets.
We managed to find the actual Surgeon that does the surgery that it turns out these other places sub-contract to - and went to him direct (an old guy that's done literally hundreds if not thousands of them).
He charged us $1500 which is what he charges the fuckers that mark it up so much.
Maybe you can get lucky like we did... :(

    You wish* herding dog boy!

Was racing my bah-sickle at the Syklocross race. Got off to my typical slow start, then started picking people off.

It was HOT with a capital HOT! around here today. Bout halfway thru I really started to notice it, but by then, it was a 'eff it! I'm not backing off! It's only 45min!'

My buddy H passed me in the first grassy section. Couldn't do much about it right then. So I started riding with my 'carrot' in front of me. ...then I dropped my chain around the first off-camber tree and lost more places. So I started riding to catch H again, and noticed that he'd slowed down.

This isn't good. We can't have this so I gotta go! Can't afford to buy him lunch!

Caught him, then it was 'Gotta go! Gotta stay ahead of him!'

Then I saw my buddy D. He started the row ahead of me, so I started chasing him down over the last lap and a half. I got within about 10' of him at the last little kink going onto the start/finish straight. He put it in overdrive before I could and got me at the line by about 20m.

They hadn't posted results yet, so I haven't the foggiest where I finished. :dunno All I know is I got lunch out of the deal. :dukegirl

Coupla thoughts: I need to work on my starts. Still not able to go from the gun. 'Course, I never have been good at that, so it's mitigating the damage rather than working on winning.

I need to do more 'Sven hills.' The little kicker(s) on the course hurt more than I thought they should.

I need to run more. The run-ups kicked my ass too. See also 'Sven hills.'

I've got an appointment with Jim Von Baden to go over the new-to-me RT tomorrow evening. Double check the TBs, etc.

    :thumb

Probably going to go for a toodle around the block tomorrow AM and try to not break a sweat doing it. Spin out the legs and get back to working on the weak points noted above later in the week.
