Don't tempt me. I misplaced most of my dignity long ago, I ain't got much left to lose.
I stopped in and checked these guys out today...
Since they're only about 5 miles from my house, the visit was LONG overdue. All I can say is WOW!!!! First class operation that does some very impressive custom work.
The single rig that I looked at was Ti with S/S couplers... oh baby, oh baby..
Now to figure out how to shit nickles....
You'd better learn to shit dollar coins. Quicker!
I am a true mesomorph
Moved further away from the new bike last night. The pfig ate another stick coil. This makes five so far. Of course "far" is pretty far, but not as far as I'd expect from a coil. (139,000 miles and counting)...
These things are now up to a bit north of $122 each. You'd think the damn things were made by Campy.:huh
Probably made in China since there is no stamp or anything to indicate where or who.
It got worse. $280 once the dust settled for two.
Ouch! That is almost twice what i paid for the first replacement pair three years ago. (within a month of being exactly three anyway).
Ah, well. I'd have just worn out the pushbike sooner anyway..
Being kinda new to SoCal and wanting to get the real answer and not the MTBR trail review, what are some of the best singletrack trails around. Since I am in beautiful Ft Irwin, Big Bear is about the closest but I am not opposed to going all the way to the coast.
So, what's you favorite?
I like Chino Hills State Park a lot, but it's not that pretty this time if year. Aliso Woods is nice, tough but nice.
There are these "Frank O" maps,
Those are available at most book stores and bicycle shops.
I've ridden Whiting Ranch, it was tough, but I was fatter then. I still think it would be tough. I also ride a lot at Skyline drive out of Corona and that goes up on top and is roads mostly and lots of them, with some places where there is single track.
Talk to (IIRC) Riceless for MC trails... I about bicycling trails. Big Bear is great for both.

Very cool to see the children of people I knew back-in-the-day, (when they were kids ) come good.
I saw an interview once of him and he sounded much like his mom and dad, very down to earth and together.
So I noted on my little odometer thing that I've ridden 300 miles in the last six weeks.
Yeah, yeah, I know, you Lance Armstrong types do 300 miles on your day off. Whatever.
I've ridden 300 miles on a crappy 15 year old mountian bike in plaid shorts and Chuck Taylors.
So screw you.
Pics, we need pics
For that I commend you.
This is a motorcycle fourm right? I'm loading up the Trek Fuel on the back of the Pacific Coast for a little bike and bike adventure in Northern Michigan the next few days. Anyone want'a ride along. MsLiz? I hope the skeeters aint too bad.
you earned that for sure.
It all started with someone stuffing a motor in a bicycle.
Northern northern MI, or northern southern MI?
