We left from San Clemente and headed over Ortega to the 15. The plan was to head up to Big Bear and ride as much dirt as possible.

A brief stop to gas up and we would be in the dirt in no time.

Finally some dirt. We get ready to head up the back of Big Bear.

Nice, this is more like it.

    Here comes Dirtdadx

I think some lunch and a cold beer would be perfect right about now

Oh yeah that is more like it
    [IMG]

Perhaps we should set up camp so we can ride without all this gear. Lets go
    [IMG]

When I was younger we didn't have them fancy BMW KTM things the nice gentleman at the check it told us.

This will do nicely, dibs on the spot by the tree.

Nice looking bikes, I especially like the "Eat Moose 10,000 Wolves Can't Be Wrong Sticker" on the fast KTM with the HT panniers

I have a Contour 1080p that I have rewired the built in mic so that it comes out of the camera and into my full face helmet.

There are cameras now that have external mic plugs so you don't have to do your own wiring, like the Contour+, VIO and Drift

I have the Contour and a Scala G4 both on my helmet. Looks kinda geeky but I like it.

I remember that trail!! A friend and I did that same trail about three weeks ago on our small bikes... my KLX250S, his DR200. We were running out of daylight so we picked the easier route rather than take the black diamond trail that looked like it went in the same direction.

We rode allot and a little dinner sounded great. A food pic would be in order
    [IMG]

Back to camp for a nice evening around the fire.

Up fairly early the next day to load up, do some riding and head home.

You think we should head out?

Brief stop at the visitor center to get a route that puts you through some historical sites up here.

    And were off

We got sepertated from Dirtdadx briefly but this group of KLRs and KTMs told us he was about a mile back up the trail waiting under [IMG]a tree.

One last photo op before slabbing it home

AS we headed down the mountain it got into the upper 90's. 2 hours later we were back in San Clemente. Great weekend with good company. Thanks for checking out my first attempt at a ride report.
