Big tire issue

    Well guys i had these mounted at my local shop its a Michelin Pilot Road 3 rear and Michelin Anakee 3 Front. Tires only have about 1200 miles on them when my better half pointed out these bulges on the rear and from the start the front has always sort of bounced (its been balanced and wheel is true and round). The front only "bounces" below about 40mph it smooths out going faster than that.

    Any ideas as to what could cause this? I was told by Michelin to take them to my nearest dealer so i'll be going in tomorrow hoping for a warranty.

    I have a street bike that I have used on dirt but the reality is that the street bike tire casings are thin for performance(less weight = quicker turn in) and fearing damage I bought a dual sport bike.I wouldnt be surprised if the pr3 used the same casing as the pilot power-just different rubber compound.Your bike looks dirty like you went somewhere good.You might want to investigate some more off road style tires with more rugged casings.Having a tire blow on the freeway due to off road damage would not be good.

    Been rocking the karroo tires offroad...these barely even saw a few graded gravel roads on my way to work maybe 1-2 a month.

    My first guess would be a sharp blow, like hitting the edge of a pot hole or some kind of road hazard.
    Unsafe. Get Michelin to warranty.

    My first instinct tell sme that the beads were torn during mounting. Air migrates into the carcass when rubber is removed from the bead area, and I'd bet that is what has happened here.
    Be certain that the shop that removes the tires for inspection does no more damage to the beads. Ask to be there when they're pulled off, and take pics.

    In a car tire, a sidewall bulge is usually a broken belt. Don't ride it anywhere. As motomantra says its not safe.
