Hey guys, I was wondering if it were possible to do longer trail rides with a trials bike? One of the limitations that I see is the fuel tank size. Has anyone increased its fuel capacity?

Are there any other limitations to longer rides? Overheating, gearbox, etc?

Hebo make an auxiliary tank that holds an extra 1 liter of fuel, that fits on the front forks behind the number board. Trials bikes are not really suitable for longer rides though, as uncomfortable to ride over longer distances sitting down, and there may well be overheating problems if held at wide throttle openings for extended periods of time. Best to sell trials bike and buy trail bike, or dual purpose trials such as TLR Honda.

Hebo auxillary tank is at the bottom of this page - http://www.lewisportusa.com/trick_bits.htm

I carry one or two 11oz MSR fuel bottles depending on how long I plan on riding. Haven't bought the aux tank yet but I might be picking it up. For wide open trails trials bikes aren't great and you would be better suited with a trail bike but for rocky, technical trails or single track a trials bike is a lot of fun.

A friend has a Scorpa with the long ride tank and seat kit. It's a cool bike.
