    Yup.

Close, but no cigar ... mebbe

I think your "key clue" of no split w/s is misleading as that was not part of the actual structure.

    So ... I'm betting it's a 1938 Pontiac as here:

A few years ago on the FJR in NW Arkansas. No idea what the old truck is.

Hey I know where that one was! Hwy 23 about 10 miles south of Huntsville.
I stopped to look at it also. I think that was about 2012.

My ID did not come from my encyclopedic knowledge of old cars, as much as I love those beasts. Nope, visiting grandkids in Seattle and trying to stay sane while they do what they do best …

So, while they use up calories at a rate that makes me tired by merely watching them, I played google image search. Risk there, as folks here know, is “Look, a dog!” distractions that pull me down other paths.

On the two-wheeled side of things, did escape long enough yesterday to visit the local (and world-renowned among Guzzisti) Moto Guzzi dealer, Moto-International, then the Triumph dealer just down the street to see what a T120 looks like “in the flesh.” My Atlanta brother is about to get one.

Now, hope to find some time today to wander around ADV. :clap

    Best,

    Bill

Correct on the location. Interesting that you were there in 2012. That's also the year I took the picture.

It's no longer there, I try to go up at least once every spring to ride AR500 or slap rally so I'm up & down 23 at least once or twice a year

Growing up the local Fire Dept. had a halftrack for field fires (my Dad was Chief for 8 years). I always heard it referred to as a "ditching drum". You would go through a ditch, or approach a steep incline and depending how steep the approach angle was the drum would contact the bank and roll, allowing the halftrack to progress up the incline/embankment (if it was real steep the front tires would lose contact with the ground).
