Just cruising East Tennessee with the family.
My setup during my two week trip out west. Badlands NP seen here...
Start of the day; Michigan's Upper Peninsula. May 2016.
Does this count?
A well tuned kit, for sure. We should tour together.
BTW, did you ever do your Route 191 trip?
Loaded up for Virginia Beach to California trip, all the camping gear in the green duffle. Camped a total of 2 nights out of 30, so you could say I was a little over prepared. At the end of a long day riding, $25 for a campsite, plus an hour set up that evening and breakdown the next AM, or $40 for a cheesy motel room, with a hot shower, bed and coffee already made in the morn. But it was always in the back of my mind that if I HAD to...
Just outside of Pecos TX on our Iron Butt Saddle Sore 1000, sunrise. The first day of 46 days on the road and 8,500 miles
Dude!!!! I am so IN on your ride. Going to find you on Facebook and follow along. Why?? Because my father son trips are absolutely epic life defining experiences for my son and me.
I can overlook the Buell factor (chuckle) because obviously you guys are into it. Rock on! I will give you a little tongue-in-cheek chit about your load out though. Dude, (black bike) lose that crap so you can ride that bike like it was made to be ridden. That thing must wallow like a drunken pig in the twisties?! yes, you can simplify simplify simplify your daily routine by jettisoning at least half that load. Find a fed-ex and ship it home, or just leave it at a donation site.
Having said that...... I am so very envious that you and your son get 42 days together on the road. What a great adventure you guys will have to talk about for the rest of your lives.
Ride on brother!
Not yet. I'm working on it. Hope to do it this winter sometime. New career had me very short on personal time. At least I get to commute daily on the bike for work related stuff.
I love this pic. Why? because the R1xxxR bikes are so under appreciated by the sport touring community. I rode the wheels off my R850R. Did an ironbutt. Often times would leave on Saturday late morning to go get a hamburger and not come home until Sunday night. Nothing but a swimsuit in the tank bag and a credit card, living in the Colorado mountains. Life was good until a whitetail took her from me on Highway 12 in Montana. The 1100R also great fun. Took 9 days once with a girlfriend on the back. She got the right bag, I took the left and the tank bag was for bike related gear. Holy cow did we rack up the miles all over CO, AZ, NV.
This bike is sooooo under appreciated.
Ride the wheels off it brother!
Victorian High Country, on our way to the MOTO GP at Phillip Island. Wife and I away for a week. First trip away on our new to us 04 GS. Ive since lowered the rack on the back.
La Ventana , BC , Mexico,,,, on the way to San Felipe
