What's the deal with parking at DIA? Same price as parking a cage?
When I lived in Cali the folks at Ontario airport would just let me go through without paying.
I'm hoping to park under cover in Denver for free:evil

.... they made me pay, BUT then again, I didn't ask not to. I do not take up spaces, though and normally park between the posts, be careful on that though, I hear they are going to crack down (another buddy got a ticket)....

Just called and was told it is the same as a cage ($18/day in the garage). A wise man once told me he just goes out the same way he came in to avoid paying. :deal

I don't doubt it, but that seems patently unfair to me -- especially if you're not even using up a parking space.

I've wondered about that -- does DIA record license plates and then match them up daily? -- i.e. they'll know you were there, are now gone, and didn't pay -- then the City of Denver (or DMV) will hunt you down???

Would it be better to try and park in the restricted areas close to the building? I think it's for police/FBI vehicles or something -- where they probably don't do a license plate survey :dunno

I wouldn't recommend exiting against traffic flow trying to enter the garage, but if one were seeking another exit point...I seem to remember seeing a nice curb cut on Level 4 west side that allows wheeled luggage carts through the passenger pickup zone to the parking garage beyond. Seems like it would be easy to make a left out of the parking lot directly into the pick-up zone traffic flow, accelerate, and be on your merry way...:augie

Of course the advantage is supposed to be parking close in but just to share..

I went over to Pikes Peak parking to meet the SO whose cage battery was dead. I was on my FJR so no lack of metal. While the machine gave me a entry ticket when I drove up, the gate wouldn't open. Apparently they are on different circuits. So I drove around the gate. One could easily do this without picking up an entry ticket as well. Leaving is no harder. No sense worrying with all the traffic at the tollbooths.:D
