Just wanted to give everyone a heads-up that the Daytona Dirt Riders will be hosting an adventure bike ride during Bike Week. It's going to be a one day ride, about 180 miles, with a lot of cruising through our leased property and jeep roads in the state forests. It should be a good time for riders of all skill levels, 2-up, etc. We might have a little "challenge" section for anyone feeling frisky.

We'll have food, t-shirts, a good route sheet, and a few good points of interest to check out. We're looking at either Monday, March 13th, or Thursday March 16th with a 250 rider cap.

I've been working on the route and the flyer and I'll post some more details a little later on.

I'm trying to gauge the interest a little bit, so let me know what you think!

Following. I have NO off pavement time but this sounds doable.

There will be a pavement only route through some great back roads also. The start will be at our Alligator Enduro property which is a AMA National event next year.

Still working that out. Probably 75-100 depending on what is included (food, t shirt, both). Not 100% sure though. We'll talk about it at our meeting tomorrow night. Looking at 170-180ish miles right now.

:eek2 Bet wheelies are prohibited and they keep your luggage until the roll chart is returned.

Lol. We had to jump through a lot of hoops to get onto some of the state land, which includes imposing a speed limit and whatnot (read: Don't do wheelies on forestry roads). The BBQ and private land will be worth it.

Sounds just like Swampy! At least he does an epic 2 day ride for $100
Many of us are anti Fee so you my not get much millage here.
The regulars tend to do our rides for free.

All true, but the Devils Creek is more of a hard core Dual Sport, almost an enduro. We are gearing our ride more toward the big bikes that don't want to ride all the sand and mud of the swamps. Lots of scenic back roads and dirt road sections not open to the public any other time. I Think there's lots of people that come down for Bike Week that would like to see more than A1A and The speedway. this way they can take in all that and get in a little riding away from the traffic too. Understood it's not for everyone and the locals have probably ridden most of it before there's another crowd that hasn't. First year trying this so we'll see how it goes.

Update: Looking at $65 entry and lunch at Three Bananas (local hot spot). We'll throw in a t shirt. Going to be close to 185 miles. Should be a good time for anyone who wants to go. I understand pay to ride isn't for everyone, but I wanted to make sure you all at least had an invite out there.

Interested. Partially depends on if it conflicts with the TT at DIS Thursday evening. How far are the start/end points from the speedway?

15 - 20 minutes without traffic. Hop on US-1 for 3 miles, hit the highway for 5, and you're basically at the speedway. We actually hit the road the speedway is on (way out of town) and you can follow it to there if you don't want to ride back to camp.

Tee shirt and lunch for $65 is mobetter. Still might be too much for the anti fee crowd but I'll consider it.

Hopefully I'll finish mapping out the route this weekend. The plan is to be back in time for the Daytona TT, which I want to attend also.
We also discussed having camping at the property the night before if there is an interest.
