    Hi Folks.

As a fan of Classic Bike magazine I love their Before/After pics. Figured we needed a place for the inmates to show off their build pics before/after.

LarryBoy? Sailah? I am talking to you. :evil

Sorry I don't have anything to offer. My before/after pic usually just show a new seat and crash bars.

And I use them both. Heh. :1drink

Hope this generates some great shots.

    Be Safe.

Here are two of my 1970 BSA Lightning. My first bike-I rebuilt it when I was in grad school for about 4 times the planned cost and about the same in time. It's a really fun bike to ride though!

    Beezer!

That is beautiful. Returning British bikes from chopper to their proper form. There can be no higher calling.

Did you have to do anything to the frame/headstock? Of just just return the original forks? I assume cutting/welding was involved.

    Truly beautiful.

    Thanks

    Kevan

Kevan, thanks for the compliment! It is truly a labor of love. I just got a higher paying job, so I'm hoping to rectify some of the corners I cut while poor in grad school, including replacing the egg-shaped front rim. It was my daily rider for several years, but it's now 2 states away with my wife. Until she comes up here, I'm afraid the beezer will stay in "winter" storage.

As far as the bike, I was fortunate that a previous owner didn't do anything too drastic. I did replace the front forks. In fact, the only thing I kept with the bike was the engine (I did replace the head) and the frame. Everything else was sold and replaced. I did all the work myself, except for cutting new valve seats and boring the cylinders. I had never really worked on an engine, aside from changing oil or a starter, or ridden a motorcycle before then. Some rear pegs were welded, but were easily removed and the weld spots ground down-that was the only "permanent" modification done to the bike. Headstock was just fine. My new project is a 1952 BMW R51/3 I picked up about a year and a half ago for $50. Maybe one day I'll post pics of that one here, too!

My commando, I bought it as chopper in 1981. I rebuilt it and sold it a few years later.:cry

Nice dxamet! I think Norton Commandos are my third sexiest bike-after Broughs and Vincents.

I honestly did not believe that was the same bike, i wanted to leave you a complement but didn't want to be the first one to fall for it hahah. To be able to have a vision like that and have it come together in the end looking that professional is unbelievable. GOOD JOB!
