Problem with horses is you have to feed them whether you ride them or not and the maintenance (veterinarians) can be mega bucks.

Also, need advice. Last night she told me that she would rather me buy her a bike instead of an engagement ring and we would just buy bands

Okay - I'll ask for everyone else. Does she have a sister? Cousin? :ear

    Congrats and good luck!

Bikes depreciate quickly and get used up and sold. Wives and nice jewelry appreciate and last a lifetime or more. I wouldn't forgoe the nice ring. That's a once in a lifetime purchase, for a once in a lifetime woman. You'll have many bikes.

My plan is to ride the Dragon from the NC side....around the skyway....the dragon from the NC side again and then turn around at the HD dealership and ride the dragon the other way. It will be a full day of riding to leave from Maggie Valley hotel do the ride and then back to Maggie Valley but she specifically requested the skyway. I told her about it on my last trip out there and I kind of get the feeling the she is more interested in the skyway scenery than the twisties of the Dragon.

Oh well...it should be a blast and I'll post a RR for everyone if we take pictures.

She does but I KNOW I have the pick of the litter. She is awesome! She puts up with my crap and doesn't bitch about my toys. The dealer has a white F650GS in the showroom and 'thinks' he has a red F650GS still in the crate. I'll find out tomorrow but I really would like to get her one that matches my red R1200GSA. Fingers crossed.

I agree with you somewhat....have you ever sold a wedding ring? I have and EX and you get nowhere near what you put into that stupid ring and you're at the mercy of the jeweler. A bike however....I have Kelly Blue Book!

Thanks man.....It's totally bad ass that you rode through Iran...I kind of 'borrowed' a bike in Afghanistan to ride a little but nothing as nice as your bikes.

WOW! A trip through Iran...without guns :eek1 ? Who could imagine such a thing?
I lived there when I was 2yrs old and my Dad worked in the Embassy. That was in 1968-70. I have a sister who was born there.

I'd like to go do that but would probably need a passport from a country other than the US? I might be able to get one from Norway. Just don't want to be hassled.

this tread makes me think of one of the Gangland shows in cable. In one eposide they covered one of the Florida gangs (won't mention names for fear of reprisal).

The following are the lines I liked so much:

Narrator: "Only one things offered Mike escape from his hum drum life - his motorcycle"

Mike: "Ride’n down the road, a couple bugs in your teeth, hair flying behind ya got a beautiful half naked women hook’n behind ya, pocket full of money and a couple little baggies full of dope – just don’t get no better than that”

Could maybe due without the baggies of dope – but the rest sounds pretty good to me !
