Gear the bike to run 100mph. Not sure what that would be for your bike but with the sprockets you say you have I'd start with 15/46.

I ran 15-48 on my DRZ at sandblast. I'm sure the 650R will pull close to 100 with 15-46.

15/46 on an XR650R is the 100mph setup.

Good luck everybody! The entry list for BRS bikes looks eerily similar to RWV. Would love to be there, but I'll have to settle for a practice run with JJ and Braden tomorrow just for kicks. See you in the morning, boys.

I'll see the rest of you, hopefully, in Feb. for Sandblast 2013. :deal and John (M.A.G. here) is on the mend, so he'll be ready as well. :clap

and Jenna....let's have some more Tarzan Yodel videos from you!!

Oh.....and Doug....Glad you made it out of the desert alive. Kudos on the effort out there. It's not as easy as it sounds. The politics, alone, is enough to make me think twice about going back to Mexico or ever entering V2R (as was planned for a future run). They'll have to make some changes before I put myself in front of those caged Leviathans again. :eek1.

yeah it was pretty intense. Been writing up my story on my blog, just posted the next part of the story where it starts to get interesting: http://dakardream.net/blog/?p=708

Not sure if I would do this race again. I am looking into something that is a better fit for my long term goal.

Good to see you made it back safe. Memories of lower times usually stick with us better--and make for good campfire stories!

    Hmmmm.....

Looking at the entry list I see nobody by the name of "Roth" or "Gibson". Are you all taking the year off to give the rest of us a chance? :lol3

Negative. Time from radiator geyser to replacement radiator sourced and installed... about 4.5 hours. Yeah, not up to rally standards, I know... but this is a daily driver and I didn't have a spare in the van.

Fortunately that happened when I had lots of time on my hands... sitting around twiddling my thumbs here. :lol3

I noticed that picture of the carb has "Not for aircraft use". I just wanted to say... have you SEEN any in-car or helmet cam from BRS? *grin* :ricky

Impressive! Have fun this weekend! Was thinking about the big jump on Jerdan falls road this morning, the one with the big rock on the right hand side of the landing..... oh and the section of road on Fullerville, where the road transitions on the Apex of that gravel corner and you blindly shoot into the woods....LOVE that corner:lol3 The concrete bridge sweepers on Jayville is a little tense with the RR crossing:lol3. Don't forget Gilkey corner:lol3

My rally did not go as planned. Luckily nothing broken but I will probably be hobbling on crutches for a while. Destroyed the front wheel on the bike. Hopefully taught that tree not to jump out in front of me again!
