It took me the better part of 20 years, but I had a "Well Duh" revelation; one-on-one time with your kids(and spouse) is about as good as it gets ...even if the "kid" is about grown up. I FINALLY got my 21 year old on the bike a few weeks ago - and went on a trip up into Tenn and NC. She stuck to my back like glue for the first half hour, but in time she loosened up and we had a blast.

We went up to Tellico Plaines and camped on a Saturday. After setting up camp, we rode the Cherohala, then she wanted to run up to Deal's Gap to get a bragging-rights shirt.

I didn't know it, but she was snapping away with the camera back there

I love riding with my daughter. She's almost 24. It doesn't happen often.

    Very nice.

I'm eagerly waiting for my kids to get old enough to take along, I've got some time though since one is 19 mos. and the other 4 years.

I switched to a K & N air filter a couple of days ago and I can't begin to tell you what a difference the K&N filter makes. The bike absolutely RIPS now. If you are thinking about upgrading filters, do it! Just because the old filter was a LITTLE dirty, I can't imagine that could make a difference. :rofl

    Great RR! :clap

Read the whole thing after checking the link in the DOGS thread.

Did a similar trip in June 2012. Lots of the same scenery. Absolutely beautiful part of the country. :ricky
