Upcoming Colorado dualsport trip means some time needs to be spent getting to know the new-to-me Husaberg TE450 I picked up last weekend. Thread will be mostly pics with an occasional caption.

Step 1: Remove the "Hey! I'm riding a dirtbike on the street, officer! Pull me over" stickers....

Better. Now I don't look like I'm late to the start line of a GNCC.

Pressure checked, oil level good... let's take it on it's first ride.

You gotcha one uh them dirt bikes?

Wait.... you live in WV.... thet's a stupid question.

Does yor dirtbike tars have knobs on 'em?

If it cranks and runs, jest tell me when to be thar.

I ain't seen no nekkid hillbillies tripping acid or black bears eatin' out of portie jons since leaving yor beautiful state. I miss it.

One of my goals was to see just how much heat tolerance the bike had. The bike seems just fine as long as it's moving and getting some air (just like its owner!).

Yo, @Grizzlyman !!!! Whut did you do to dissipate the heat? Engine Ice and ..... what else?

One thing I'm planning on doing is wrapping the exhaust header. I figure the insulation will help "carry" the heat out the back and prevent the header from acting like a radiator.

I had the head and middle pipe ceramic coated inside and out. Fresh engine ice and made sure the fan cycles on as it should. I have not had any issues to date with overheating. If anyone would know it should be you Blur. You broke it in proper for me!

If you wrap the pipe, run the bike after washing to dry out the insulation wrap.

I think the founding members of the Husaberg Club of Western North Carolina (kidding) picked a pretty good spot to have their inaugural meeting....
