...wanted. I am fitting a set of 50mm Marzocchi Corse forks to the front of the 450 and instead of modifying the original caliper mount would like to know if any one can point me in the direction to get a caliper that fits those forks? I have been googling but obviously in the wrong places. The centre distance of mounting holes is 102mm. I will need to get a larger diameter disk rotor as well but should give me a bit better stopping power anyway.

    Any leads greatly appreciated.

    Cheers

    BAd news for frans verhoeven..
The sponge's in the tank to prevend the feul from goin left to right "melted"in the South American fuel... there for the bike didnt do very well.
This never happend in the testing in europe.
So the cleaned the tank and will go on next stage.
But because of the delay Frans is very sad becaus he will not be able to get a good position.....

i see 6 bmw in the race. let see how the go.

Not too sure where to post this but i'd love to meet some new people that ride a KLR650 in the northern Utah area. I'm new to my 2007 KLR and would love to have maintenance, tech and any other advice..

    30 liter
one piece tank of the bmw from frans verhoeven.
disigned bij Bert duursma and Frans verhoeven.

Its a subframe as well and the hole inthe front is were the rear shock goes trough.

PS Frans is back in the race but with a lot of delay.

The problem was not the engine ore the transmission but the prime axale shaft.

This fueltank was designed by Frans Verhoeven and myself. The idea was to have a single tank of 30 litres
    • containing enough fuel for Dakar type of rallies (but you don't have to fill it up all the way)
    • saving weight by integrating functions of rearframe and rearfender into the tank
    • Having all fuel weight (30L=21kg) close to Centre of Gravity
    • Having less weight on frontwheel compared to competitor rallybikes (no fuel on the front side of the bike)
    • Integrated grab handles
    • No extra pumps, fuellines, taps etc
    • Made of very sturdy PE material

By the way, I have sold my BMW Motorrad dealership as of 1-1-2010. Now I have all the time to work on BMW Rally projects !!

BTW One of my previous projects is the special R1150 enduro:

Well, if you happen to have a spare tank leftover from the dealership, I'd love to give it a good home.
