    I think the seat belts are there to make it a no helmet vehicle.
    I'd still wear a hemet.

    you are correct BMW thought when they built it that the EU would allow it to be a no helmet vehicle but the EU had other ideas.

    If you wear the seatbelts (if it has them, you are required to wear them in the US) and a helmet (if you have a helmet law...) and have an accident, you will have a neck injury. It was part of the reason the scoot wasn't popular in the EU, many of the countries required the helmet, BMW couldn't lobby effectively against it.

    Unless you have the HANS device :rofl

    I've seen a test crash of the C1 with stunt rider Jean-Pierre Goy strapped in.. very impressive. He low sides it on purpose and he never contacts the ground.

    i think it rocks. nothing wrong w/ passive restraints. i hope the asians clone this and make it afforable, i would buy one right away if it has abs, traction control, air conditioning, and a cigarette lighter... oh,oh and a dome light and a dvd, and a text to speech option and a place to put my Go NOLES flags
