Projects? a few...... better than watching tele.
RT was a good price, was going to make an S out of it....then R90/6 came up. Was sold as had not run in two years and battery dead.
fitted battery and fired it up, air in tyres, took it for a run, runs sweet.
its really tidy, probably get a wof, rego and move it on.
Would be a hopeless commuter, too barge like for lanesplitting.

90/6 is now 'track proven' ....:roflnice to ride, needs a good service, especially the brakes and steering bearings. two years to cheap rego :clap

There is a 1976 R100 for sale on the side of the road near Motueka that I had a look at today as I was driving past. Looked well used and had twin plugs. $5k is that an ok price??

Probly not going to buy it as having enough problems with a KLR to worry about an old bike as well, oh and the Benelli:tough, but was just wondering really.

Hard to say, its really a lucky dip with bikes that old. twin plugs tends to suggest a PO was keen on modifications, if it was light blue with wire wheels and an RS yes.....

Saturday weather was cold and damp but not raining, Trustme's Triumph

unfortunately was a non starter for the day.

Did one practice session and the engine started to make a rattle sound,

pulled into the pits and Trustme said " Chap, your engine sounds rather

noisy" and we looked down to see sparks coming from the timing hole...

Verdamit.....its all over for me too, but the Dunkirk sprit kicked in and

Trustme had the bike on some stands quicker than I could say fricken

    Bavarian Tractor......

With the help of rising classic classic racer Tyler ( 15) we had the tranny

out the flywheel off and the offending ring gear out and all back together

    in about an hour.

Starting was now using Lucas aide powered rollers :evil

Missed one practice session and only just made the race, passed a couple

of back markers but finished nowhere.

Trustme took out the BMW for a track parade ( untimed track session) and

pretended to enjoy it, sounds rather nice with its Norton pipes :D

last race was with the Posties on their fast Jap bikes, got left at the rear

but had a great battle with a Yamaha......XJ......550....:rofl

Compared to Japanese 4 cylinder bikes BMW's sure are underpowered.

Got past him but it took some doing and some fancy line planning on a

    corner.

The day ended early as someone leaked oil on quite a bit of the track and

after some cleanup the two test bikes said " no way"

    Still quite an interesting weekend.

We won't talk about Winston , bugger, bugger , never mind.

Volty went out for practice & came back with a Beemer sporting a Ducati clutch, rattle , rattle , even sparks were flying.

" We will pull the ring gear out " , " but I cant start it '" . "use my rollers"

It starts a methanol fueled fire breather it will start a tractor

We were in to it . This was our finest hour . Well 1 1/2 hours actually

"Waddya reckon mate" , "good to go mate"

And go it did . Volts was back out for the first race.

Sunday & we found out the Bavarian Tractor is not an early riser

Even the Prince of darkness could not awaken him

    We'll push it

Sod that lets talk to this bloke

    Much better

    Toyota power Triumphed

Volts was ready to race but a bit early for the start

Wakey wakey , time to racey

Instantly the race face appeared , this is what champs are made of

All in all a bloody good weekend. Volty was kind enough to let me get a bit agricultural. Winston wobbles about like a cheap midlands slapper in stilleto's . The tractor is stable, sure footed & runs really nice .

    Nice report.
The activity in the pits looked feverish - the pics brought out the feeling of urgency.
I would have crapped myself out on the wet track.

Tme hurry up & get Winston running properly.

    Great News :clap
So careful winter rebuild ready for the Spring or try for the HMCC meet at

    HD?

I don't like the wet, but its a confidence thing, other than the white lines on

the corner entering the main straight ( go figure) the BMW never stepped

out....smooth and controlled throttle is the key. On the other hand I was

    just circulating and came nowhere.

I feel the same way about riding fast on gravel but you guys do it.

Best I can manage is loosey on the bars and use my knees as suspension

and weight forward, works on the Norton :lol3

A very careful rebuild, Taupo is early Sept. Puke /early October [ I thought Puke was off the menu ??? ] , Barry Sheene / late October, Manfield / Mid November,
Burt Munro / Late November .
Any thing else will be a bonus.
Volty, We could squeeze the tractor into the trailer with Winston & you could fly down for the Burt. A hill climb, street race & Teretonga in a week can't be bad.
If you don't make plans , nothing happens.:wink:

Was talked into attending the mid winter racing this coming weekend at Hampton Downs, so got my mate to make up some rivets to reattach the ring gear to the pressure plate.
Blocked the crank at the front, lined up the timing marks, refitted the flywheel, fitted the pressure plate, fitted the 6 bolts......hello.....:baldy
Picture explains what I found wrong......

Shouldn't have bolted it to the seat?
