I agree. Its one of those things you may only need once but thats when its worth it.

Not to mention turning it off is easy when your switching to dirt.

I will have a hard time buying another bike without it.

Im not worried about it being "one more thing to break," cars have had it for years. The technology is proven.

Not to mention that thats what the purist say about every kind of technological advancement. It gets old guys.

I would offer a different opinion on ABS. I have racers GP bikes and do not see a need for ABS personally. However I did still buy this. It is a matter of resale. You will get this most of this back in ht end and it could save you along the way. Buy aftermarket riding gear and less farkles to pay for it if needed. This will be a good investment.

Top right corner, click on thread tools. "Subscribe to this thread". Done!

It will now be under the "Quick Links" tab, also top right, where you go to "Subscribed Threads". Voila!

Subscribed! Thanks, this is a great resource. Just about to trade my R1200R in on a 2010 F8GS. Looking forward to it!

Hey Wildman any chance of splitting any F650 links away from the F800 links so they are easier to find. Maybe I just need to look better

well.... different forks, smaller pistons, different wheels, but generally the same bike mechanically.
Most "accessories" like screens, seats, guards, etc. are the same.

They share 85% (estimated) of the same parts.
Let's just say same Dad, different Mother.

For better or worse, we're all in this together. :lol3

right on, good luck in your quest. They sure are great bike to ride.
I'd imagine the 650 would be a great replacement and a slightly more refined step up from the strom. :ear

There is a section in the index related specifically to the F650; it's titled The "658". Always on the lookout for decent threads to link there.
