You can go off road... it's just really slippy :D (well on our gravel which is akin to small brown ball bearings)

Took the bike in and they pulled the rear wheel off.

Turns out there were 3 pieces of metal flash that were floating around in the hub. The mechanic said it was probably there from when they assembled the bike and whoever did the job should have cleaned it out better. No damage done to the bearings. He took pictures and sent them to Germany.

So all is good and riding weather is hopefully a couple of weeks away.:D

Has anyone experienced a slight "squeal" coming from the front end? Its more noticeable at slow speeds and when applying the front brake, which makes me think its a brake issue.

I had this same issue on my previous bike(Ninja 250) and on that bike it was the front axle was way over torqued from the factory. I wont have the chance to bring the bike to the dealer anytime within the next few weeks as my dealer is an hour away. Any ideas?

Bought a used 2012 F800R this Wednesday. Registered it on Thursday and put a whooping 1000km on it the last two days. Awesome ride, just way too cold at about 0 degree centigrade.

There' no bolt in that panel, it's like a rubber locater where you've got the cable tie.. The bolt hole in front of it's bare on mine as well, think it's for something else, maybe carried across from the ST, or the original R's design.

Spring has finally arrived! A little trip through the two mile tunnel to Whittier for the annual opening of the Sweetwater Café for fresh striped shrimp, halibut and cod. An avalanche cut loose in front of us shortly after this pic.
