I'm riding an R90 on fairly unfamiliar territory. Looking for a low cost GPS. There's a Nav IV on craigslist for $225 and it looks like there will be a Montana 610 on sale on Black Friday for $329.

Should I jump on the NAV IV or get a Montana 610 on sale?

they're both pretty old devices, go to a store and try them out.... then compare the ease of use to your phone.

Thanks. Has the Montana 610 been superseded by a newer model?

I think he is just a huge advocate of using smartphones.

Much like transitioning to a smartphone, the montana has a huge learning curve, but is a very solid performer. The nav4 is based on the zumo 660, and is more fun out of the box.

Yes, both units are getting a bit long in tooth, but the montana is my goto unit.

The screen on the Nav4 is 22% larger than the Montana. Just one difference, but screen size makes a big difference to me.
