Instead of putting the bike under you in the corner, put yourself under the bike (slide over a bit on the seat and move your shoulder forward and down so it leads into the corner). Plus, put the balls of your feet on the pegs. Then you'll have greater tire angle to work with, and less scraping of parts.

Since this I've taken a sport bike class on base and have learned a lot!

Nice picture. I would love to see BMW do a variant like this along side a more traditional R model when the liquid cooled R bike comes out.

I have owned several R's, but my favorite was the 00' R1100R

Looks like a Givi rack from what I can see of the support, probably Givi box too.

That's class, but the first things folk would be looking for, would be screens and luggage.

Love it. This would be my around town or canyon bike if they built it.... Would love to have the wasserboxer so I can do the clutch easily and stuff like that.

Looks good! I have a ton of Touratech stuff on my G650X. They don't list anything for the R1200ST, but I'm guessing most R1200R & R1200RT stuff should work?

Hi all, this has been my first BMW bike, and I have loved it for the most part. My friend on the right(1200GT) and I were at Buffalo River Canyon in Arkansas, we'd been riding south from Siloam Springs down to Hot Springs, nice ride, though lots of log trucks and loose dogs, lol. The only thing I wish was better on this bike was a magic windshield...I've tried a few and still can't defeat the helmet buffeting...thinking of just putting the Sport back on it and calling it even, lol.

Hey, if anyone has figured out some sort of skidplate that will fit on one of these, please let me know. I'm about to put some thick metal lathe under there in prep. for a long trip, just don't like that oil filter being naked, thanks.

I have a stock R1200GS skidplate on my R1200R - fits with no mods. I'd look into whether the plate from a 1150 GS will mount up. I'd guess it would, but don't know enough about that gen to do much other than guess.

Thanks. I've seen a couple of threads referring to something like that, but never really any corroboration or images, lol. Will continue to look.

I have a 2001 R1100R Classic and I am looking for a smallish wind screen. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks

Does anyone know the size of the bolts that are used to mount the luggage rack to the bike?
