    Hi

I was talking with a few people about the remapping option for the 800GS and heard that (EDIT) dealers (EDIT) are requiring owners of remapped bikes to sign something? Curious.....

    Anyone know anything about this?

    Thanks

The flash has to be certified by the EPA, so I can't imagine BMW asking you to sign any kind of waver.

Yeah, I suspect the same thing. ANyway, I decided to put this remapping issue to bed (for me anyway) so Ic alled BMW Canada and spoke with a tech guy (apparently the tech guy) about the remapping. He said that unless you're crossing Africa (i.e. only regular gas avaialble for considerable mileage) there is no need for a remap. He said it's fine to run a few tanks of regular if the situation requires be cautious and don't load the engine too much. He said that worst case, just carry a bottle or two of octane booster. Good enough for me. :)
