Everyone is looking for the next cafe racer. Someone convinced these guys that board track replicas are the next shit, so they slapped these rolling disasters together to create hype. It's a possible explanation.

I fear you're onto a core thing here.

I still think the next big thing will be street trackers.

That's what it seems like to me. Lots of local dudes have ditched cafe racers and are now riding street trackers. That's fine with me, I like street trackers more than I ever tolerated cafe racers.

Well, criticism, especially of the negative variety, is always hard to hear, but we always like to know what people think. I might point out that this release is a bit premature, as we haven't even released pictures of the bike on our own website, however, it is interesting to hear responses from a forum like this. I would also point out that this is not intended, in the first place to be replica, or anything to do with a board tracker in the second. The idea is to build a very simple, light-weight, practical, repairable-by-the-owner motorcycle with a flavor of early record breakers and to do as much manufacturing as possible here in the States. We love light-weight, small displacement bikes and have been customizing them for customers for the last 8 years. We wanted to make something available to other riders like ourselves and create some jobs in northern Indiana while we are at it. Sorry if this is in the wrong forum.

    Thanks,

Don't let the criticism get you down.

It's a good first effort. A few tweaks to the look and you'll have a winner.

I've often thought that it would be cool to build something like an old board tracker with lights, mirrors, decent brakes, suspension, and enough power for riding around town. Make it reliable and cheap enough to attract young riders.

He does some awesome work, but there's no way that's "cheap enough to attract young riders."

my brother builds an award winning bike for the ROCKERBOX BIKE SHOW every year here in milwaukee, but the janus boys are trying to start manufacturing a line of motorcyclers mainly built here in the usa....my hats off to them for being doers, and trusting their american ingenuity will make them succseed. i like what they said about these bikes being in the formative stage.....let's see what they come up with as an end result. btw, here is my brother richard's 1st. place rockerbox entry from last year. checkout this years bike show info here....http://www.rockerbox.us/

    what a crap thread.

I don't think you get to claim made in USA motorcycle if the engine isn't made here.

Frankly, I'd rather have the tubes welded together overseas, as it's been a long time (if ever) that Americans built production frames with the best of them.
