Are you guys trying to tell me I should engage brain before activating fingers? You're married you know how Male/Female conversations work:

    He says:
I have my Death Valley ride all sorted out, just need to nail down the date; looking like either Feb 15 thru 23 or Feb 22 thru Mar 2 Weather almanac and historical logs say 73 high and 46 lows. around that time. Probably camp at Texas Springs at Furnace Creek. There are some cabins that a free gratis, on a first come basis up in the hills.

    She hears:
Loddy dotty, blah, blah...Death Valley :ear, blah, blah doo dee doo dum, March :ear March? Ooooh I'll be in Death Valley in March.

OK I got so excited at the thought of the fun Boise kids being in Death Valley at the same time I'll be there I missed the important part - Two different ends of the month. :D

Fine go there a month before me and I'll just have to see you in Hells Canyon instead :deal

I'll go slither back under my rock now. :shog

Just popped in to say hi. Was in DV this summer for four days. We stayed at Panamint springs and it was awesome! PERFECT temps at night in the middle of summer. Nice place with trees. Furnace Creek at the bottom of the valley and may even be on the warm side for this time of year. Post #504 is the start of my DV report on page 34 of my thread HERE. For those that have never been there, the Racetrack and Aguereberry Point were probably two of my favorites while there. Just my thoughts...

Hey Sam, so after talking to you, I ended up pulling the trigger on a Tiger. Should pick it up Xmas eve. I might be up for a couple of those rides, depending on how my schedule pans out.

Well I hope you two had a Great ride. The date is set; Depart morning of 22 February Arrive Saturday at Panamint Springs Resort. Sunday thru Friday Ride/Explore Pack-up Friday head home Saturday morning.

I have two others on the in myself and a possible one more. If that happens my truck is full. I am going to camp... they have a shower. I liked the Furnace Creek area but having to pay extra for a shower at the swimming pool, Na!

So, I will have a three place trailer loaded and one in the bed of my truck.

Prefect timing, it's started snowing. Hope the ride was good.

:clap:clap Sounds like we have a plan. If a couple more opt in or we need to get a couple more bikes down there, we can take my trailer. I'll offer it up any way. With 4 bikes that would leave us with the tack room and the bed of the truck for gear.

I've got your number Sam. Dad is currently battling winter roads in Wyoming. He'll be here tonight. Let's grab dinner somewhere on Wednesday or Thursday night. Or, we could just do some steaks at my house and save a few bucks over restaurant prices.

If you make reservations at Panamint, we stayed in tent site 14 which is about the best one there. Really cool trees to nestle into.

It All sounds good, your house is OK with me. PM your address if that's what you decide.

Just tell your dad to take it easy, Wyoming winds (especially off I-80) are brutal in the winter.

In observance of the winter solstice, (and in case the Mayans were right, I don't want to spend my last day at work), I'm taking the day off and trailering the TW200 out to Hemmingway Butte for the afternoon for some sand and singletrack. Anybody want bring their little bikes out to play?

I'm glad you posted the ride. After view your photo's, I remember riding in the crevasse, but not as far as you did! I hiked up the rest. Had forgotten what it looked like until seeing your photo's.

...and while you were busy, I was off gallivanting around the desert elsewhere!

Nice meeting you, we'll have to ride out there again sometime.
