A beautiful, historic spot with, so far, no smoke: http://motoidaho.com/node/1592. It should be a very low speed, hands-on ride. :evil It's time to psyche-up.

I've been lurking around the big DR 650 thread for a few years and came across this thread a couple of weeks ago. I havent been able to get my brother or other friend to ride much this year, so I thought I'd post here.

This Saturday, I am thinking of riding ridge road to Eagleson summit, taking 275E to Crooked Summit, to robie Creek, to rocky canyon. I thought I head out about 9:00. Anyone want to come along?

Welcome to the thread. :D I'd love to join you but will be out of town. If you don't get a bite here you can also post up on Boise Riders.

Not a ride but some pictures from the area this last weekend: trailimage.com/big-trinity-damsels. Maybe not as bad as you'd expect, burn-wise. Definitely some toasted spots but I think the grandeur is intact.

Wow, thanks I always enjoy your write ups. Her map showed the burn areas quite accurately. :D

Hey guys haven't been out much, but want to take the bike out and maybe hit up a check point or two on the IAMC checklist. If anyone is free to ride, I could def use a riding buddy. Let me know if you want to go out! I'm itching to ride! :D

BTW, I'll be on a new bike, so forgive me if I do something stupid on it. :evil

I just got home last night from Colorado with a new to me bike and could go on Tue. or Wed.
Don't know what sites you were thinking of hitting, I was thinking Bonneville, 3 Island, Shoofly, Utter Disaster. and Swan Falls would be a good loop.
If you are more interested in hitting the mountains we could do Joseph Lake, Seafoam, Redfish, Pole Cr., Triumph, and Sheep Bridge.

I'm good with either. I'm on a stock XR650R that I just got, so I don't know the range. I'm guessing as long as I can fill up somewhere every 60-80 miles I'll be fine

The Stanley loop might be a bit long for the XR, I will take the KLX250S and we can do the 3 Island loop. Which day do you want to go?

Sorry, my work keeps me from riding during the week unless I ask in advance 4 weeks ahead. Have a good time, ride safe.

and his friend. We rode to Hawley lookout, then through Horseshoe bend and Pearl road. Had a great time, felt lucky to have cooler weather!

That works. Wednesday looks like it will be a little cooler and clear skies, so if that works for you I'm game. I can go Tuesday as well if that works better. either or.

Anybody else having problems uploading challenge photos to the motoidaho.com site? I have tried it with Firefox and chrome and just keep getting an error message.
