I've got an old pair of HiPoint ProGP boots that need to be re-soled. I tried a "Highly Recommended" cobbler in the Boston area and he tried but the repair is lacking. Anyway, thought I'd see if anyone on here could recommend a someone that can do a quality repair for me. Extra points if they can repair the soft flap inside the closure for the boot.

If anyone knows a solid cobbler I'm happy to ship the boots to them for the work.

    Thanks

I sent boots a couple times to fremont boot repair in Michigan. I don't have their contact info anymore. They advertised in the Great Lakes trailer rider...Try posting the question in the forum that covers Michigan.

I'm a BIG fan of Dave Page out here in Seattle. Ten years at REI sending customer's boots to him and I've never seen a bad repair. He's completely rebuilt boots for me and they came back better than new. He's busy but I'll keep going back time and again.

I wore some sort of High Point MX boot in the 70's. It had the metal shin plate and handy leather straps clipped to a belt buckle type gizmo where they attached. Somehow they were lost in one of my moves, but I sure did like them. I wish Sidi would make something like it.

Give Peter Limmer in Intervale, NH a call. His family makes what are probably the finest hiking/backpacking boots on the planet, and his shop does repair work that most do not have the ability or equipment to do. Worth a call.
