    Hello.
This is my first post here, very nice place to be,
been reading for a long time, and it is time to write something
to give a small contribution to this very nice place.
I am not a very good photo maker, or a writer, but I do
    my best :D

    My first offR

Will not talk much, be happy.

My first off ride took place in Bosnia
(my home country) near city of Livno
(my home town) on the way to Kupres,
    towards old Roman town
    Stržanj (Stridon, has lotsa names).
The town doesn't exist anymore, but
I've heard stories of it having 40000 people
in its best times. It all disapierd, and all
that is left is a medevial castle or something
and a few houses. My grandmother was born
there, and in 2.world war escaped to Livno
(she was a Partizan and escaped from Ustaše)
    Talking too much.

On this pic the remains of a castle or a fort are visible, no clue of a town, or anything. But the story is true.

It was a hard ride for a beginer, had very hard uphills (or downhills :D ) and my first river crossing. Also mud and rocks.

River Šuijca is exiting from the underground in Stržanj.
Bosnia is very beutiful county, the nature is untouched
because off the war here and lotsa landmines. This place was
the front line for a long time in the war.

Later, the same day, pics all around Livno, river Sturba, Borova Glava
(and wild horses (I will write later about them)) and so on.
    No talking.

I am fast (found time bigtime :D )

One of my next trips took me back to Bosnia,
    winter time, very cold.

Starting from Split, a view towards Dugopolje :D
    [IMG]

Stoping on river Cetina, near Trilj :D
    [IMG]

In Bosnia, a little lake Mandak, mountain Tušnica in background, very cold.

I was aiming for the mountain Cincar, and a path leading to Kupres.
    Offroad starts in Livno.

On the last pic you can see Livno city, mountain Tušnica on left, Biokovo in the middle and Kamešnica on right.

As i get higher there is more and more snow, and very cold wind called "Bura".

I arrive on a plato called Kruzi (or Krug, everything has lotsa names in Bosnia), lotsa snow, and the path is not very visible.

It was very hard to drive on this, snow (rocks and mud under the snow).
And a few big degs having lotsa fun chasing me. It was not fun to me,
large dogs, Šarplaninac and Tornjak, 6-7 of them. Scary.
And so I had to turn back.

    and go home.

On the way back, resting Cetina river again (and one wrong way)

I did get back here in summertime, I will post it later.
    Greetings.

    Just short one day trips,
    going somewhere far away
    is just a dream.
    Maybe I need to change
the title of the thread to
    "Croatia & Bosnia & 2 years of time & kle & Me"
or should I write separate threads or I can erase
it, or I can continue. Whole lotta possibilities :D

    [IMG][IMG]

    Continuing :D (if I may ) now.

Kupres is very specific area. It is a highground 1200 m above sea
and only 100 km away from Adriatic Sea.
Than to Šujica and Stržanj again but not the same way as before

Near is ski hotel Adria-Ski and well known Čajuša, all people from Dalmacija
go skiing here (120 km from Split, Croatia).

Very easy, and very close, if you need any detail info please ask.
Croatia&Bosnia are great offRoad destinations if you know where
    to go.

Thank you all for reading, it is very nice to awake these memories.

This trip is very fresh :D (a month ago or so).
In my first post kle had 300km and now has 32000 :D

Again in Bosnia, this time from Livno towards Grahovo, Veliki Troglav, the
highest peak of Dinara mountain on the pic. This big field is called Livanjsko
polje and it is the largest of that kind (krško polje, manny troubles with english and translating some specific words)

My plan was to find Šatorsko jezero (Šator means tent, and jezero is lake)
on Šator mountain. This time i got very lost, with little fuel, and no cell phone (very nice :D ) but had a beautifil time.

Missed the path to the lake and came above lake (lake is on 1500 m, and the peak is 1900m). It is a glacial lake.

On the way down i got lost again, and found a path to exit between Drvar & Glamoč (seen comrade Damir's RR pasing here :D ), and than home to Split.
Total of 120 km gravel road, very nice.
This area is like 30 km away from Livno. Everything is close.

Wow, in only 1 year? :p

Croatia seems pretty similar to germany from the landscape.. and then.. the next pic it is totally different.

I like the picture of the reflection on your helmet the most.

Is that an "universal mounting kit" for different types of tires on that LADA? Never seen such thing before...

That's an old R4 isn't it. The Renault counterpart to the 2CV. That area is very beautiful. In the late 60's or early 70's I traveled to Zagreb and some coastal town. I vaguely remember a place called Biograd or similar sounding. The water was always crystal clear.

Keep the pictures coming. Maybe one day I'll get to see it again.
