I, possibly foolishly, bought a hennessey hammock from a member here and I am having a huge amount of frustration trying to set the whole she bang up. Yes, I have watched videos, exhaustively visited hammock forums, and I am just....arghhh..frustrated!!!

Is there ANYONE within a hour or so of Toronto who could give me some one on one help? I live about an hour or so east of Toronto but I am willing to ride to somewhere semi local for some help.

    Help!

Whats the problem. Im in Angus if you want to come by....

    But basically,

find trees about 12-15 ft apart
put straps around trees, ( I use 1in webbing), around 6+ ft above ground
Hook, tie or whatever, hammock to straps.
    Adjust a little

Done, although I often put the tarp up first. Only takes a few minutes

Always drink screech while doing this, so factor in several minutes for this..:lol3

I found the technique described in the video below to be the most satisfying. I tested this year in a couple of occasions already, after purchasing a pair of carabiners from Mountain Coop along with some 4 fix descending rings, which make the hennessy hammock setup a one-handed 3 minutes affair... yeah, the other hand will hold your beer :freaky

But then again, if the existing videos on their website didn't quite help, you'd probably need direct hand-holding on the initial attempts :hmmmmm... PM me and I maybe able to provide a demo this weekend...

Myself and buddies do this as well and it works awesome. However if you have the small mainline like 4mm watch out the descending rings will cut the small rope it happened to both of theirs, make sure your hammock has the 8-10mm mainline.

I use webbing around the trees, carabiners clipped into the webbing and whoopie slings from hammock to carabiners.

Less parts, quick to adjust, light weight. I also have a ridgeline so I pull the whoopies tight until the ridgeline is taught. So I have the same lie angle every time.
