However, my dad would have made me walk barefoot on nails if he'd caught me in the shop without shoes.

    Just sayin... :D

    Nice! :thumb

XR80 right? I had a 1982 for my first bike. If it broke or needed maintenance my Dad showed me how to fix it. When it needed it again, I had to do it myself if I wanted to ride it. I had sooooooo much fun on that bike!

    He'll love it!:clap

It's a XR75. Trying to run down a few odds and ends. Motor is in. Going to use the old plastics cause he'll just break them again anyway. :rofl

He tells me the other day. You know what dad, I think you need to have different motorcycles for doing different things on them.....:rofl That is the short version anyway. I think he might be a lost already. I keep hearing XR200. Hasn't even ridden the 75 yet!:D

    He's gonna have a ball!
That's what my Grandfather did, help me fix it the 1st time, after that it was on me, you learn how to do it if you want to ride.
Best bike he could start on, beat it like a rented mule and it'll keep on going.

Hopefully first ride tomorrow! Had to fab up a chain slider and guide thingy for the swingarm. Using the term "fab up" rather loosely. Old slider off of XR600 cut and zipped on arm. Little bracket in frt of rear sprocket with another piece on it.

Got the points cleaned up and set. She fired right up. The boy is to nervous/excited to ride it. :D I sure had a hoot on it though.:rofl Well give it a go in the morning.
