    Abso-bloody-lutely.

I will be with local classic club members on the road race circuit, spreading two stroke juice as wide as I can!
    Booked in, paid for!

Only down side is that I too would like to do the Scrap Heap Challenge. I'll just have to make Pezz a donation:nod

Prolly just taking two bikes : wife's Guzzi Monza :clap is now old enough and the Ducati single race-bike - don't know if I'll run that, though - it literally hasn't turned a wheel in over a decade! :cry

Also need to find out exactly why my leathers seem to keep shrinking....

    Definitely is.

    Preparation:

I've got the 250 back in one piece. New pistons & rings - 1st oversize. It actually has some compression now!

All the bits for the 350 hand grenade are in the garage. I've spent today cleaning bits. It's got 3rd o/s pistons to go in, due to

It's been quite some time since I have an engine open myself, well a bike engine anyway. So I spent some time doing a bit of research about putting it all back together.
One thing I learnt was to do a final clean the barrels with paper towel with a bit of dishwashing liquid. Yeah, they looked clean. It took a few minutes on each barrel and I used a pine plantation in scott towel. I must remember to clean the pistons too, before they go in.

Anyway, I've had loads of quality time this week!

Don't some bike shop staff shit ya!!!???
I've been working through the 350. I bought 3rd os pistons & rings & had two pairs of barrels to choose for re-bore. I left that decision to the machinist. I didn't realise that the reed receivers were different. The barrels he chose wont allow the larger reed blocks to fit.

No great drama, just use the smaller reeds and standard carbs - probably a wise choice at any rate. What it did mean is that I needed some jets.

Late Thursday afternoon, I went to a local dealer and the young parts bloke says "I'm send it away & mark it 'urgent'. Should have them maybe Monday, or Tuesday" I paid in advance.

Friday morning, I realised that I actually ordered the wrong size pilot jets. I rang and said, "If you can change it, fine. If it's already been sent, I'll just wear the extra cost". No dramas for him, it was my blue.

Monday PM, thinking that the freight may have been delivered, I ring to enquire. The young lady at the parts counter tells me, "they were ordered this morning"

    :dog

And, one of the jets isn't available. The 230 mains that are probably the most likely to work properly....

Do I speak with the owner and maybe get the sales bloke the sack, or at least get him offside? Do I just cop it on the chin and walk away from the place?

Before I rang, I was thinking 'why don't the bike shops have the parts delivered direct to the customer? Like would happen if I ordered over the internet???'

Now I'm just thinking - 'stuff 'em'. Maybe I shouldn't be recommending to Learners that they always give the local shops the opportunity to match prices.

Oh yeah, I think I wont be buying my new Arai helmet from that shop.

Aside from that, the prep is going well. I had to play some more with the 250's carbs and the left needle/seat continues to play up.

The 350 will start out with oversize pilot jet and mains. Maybe that what it will need anyway, as it's fitted with chambers and pods.

(Trying to not let the bastards get me down)

'Must be just you, me & bob/one around a the moment. Everyne else is working..

It's purple because of other sources of light. No flash, no colour correction, no alteration. Don't get ya knickers in a twist.
What makes you think a camera records the scene as you see it? A camera tries it's best to make everything 18% grey. Mostly, the effect is over-exposure. So a little bit of correction is generally required.

Maybe I'll just come down there and sort out ya photography...I'm staying clear of your bikes.
