Yesterday, Sunday, May 1st I decided to strap by skis to my backpack, bungee my ski boots to my bike, and make the hour drive from Burlington, VT to Sugarbush Ski Resort...they were giving away free lift tickets and the forecast called for crystal clear skies, no wind, and temps in the 70's. There was no way I could pass up the opportunity to ski in Vermont in May. I definitely got a few stares from people mowing their lawns, playing golf, and/or jogging as I cruised by with skis on my back.

Here's a few pics of my bike at a gas station in Starksboro on the way...my ski boots are in the black bag that is bungeed to the rear mudguard...

And my bike in the Sugarbush parking lot (ski boots are on my feet and I'm ready to make some turns on snow)...met two other ADVer's in the parking lot!

At the top after taking Heaven's Gate chairlift up...This is looking north along the spine of Vermont's Green Mountains...

And about to ski some nice bumps on Organgrinder...this is looking east towards Mt. Washington in the White Mountains of New Hampshire.

All in all a memorable day.

If you feel like you need to do anymore skiing come to Utah, as of today Snowbird is reporting a 181" (~15 foot) base. They've had a record 711" of snow fall this year.

@EmacsRazor: Nice! I'm super jealous that the 'bird still has that much snow. That place is a blast to ski. I'm actually flying to Mammoth next week to get in some late season runs :)

@Motojournalism: yea my back is killing me from having the bike strapped to my back :rofl And really, you found this via twitter? Someone at Sugarbush must have found it. That's kinda cool

Nothing quite like ripping soft spring bumps after a long, dark, cold VT winter.
