Thanks & enjoy!
We now have a limited number of flat unfolded individual state maps that make ideal wall maps.
They can be laminated or hung as is. They are unique in that they come off the printers but are pulled prior to folding.
Please order the state map(s) normally and put "flat map" in your checkout comments. The free ship code will still work but please don't use it for these. We need to charge shipping because they ship in larger round tubes but we'll keep it to $3 for a tube of one or several. Please order separate from folded maps, so we can keep these orders straight and you get your wall maps. Thanks!
Note: the 5 state planner map is not available (but stay tuned for a very special framed version of that) so please order indiv. state(s) & not the packages.
...nice review in the Cycle mag eakins!
Arlen Ness in Vegas now has maps
As does IRV Seaver BMW
thanks! i'll post a scan of it soon...
but at the moment i'm having no fun in mexico
Are these pavement only, or are trails covered?
Pavement only for now. There's a cool one coming out in the spring, 2011 which covers a noted route in the Pacific NWet.
as timmer said paved roads only for these maps.
dual sports to follow. we'll start working on colo. this summer.
state will be broken up into segements, probably 4 maps.
free ship code extended!
happy new year everyone
Got mine. You guys did a good job on the CO map, can't argue with the ratings of various rides, spot on.
We're now riding (& will be working on) a Texas Hill Country map. Temps are in the high 60s low 70s. It's a concentrated area but has ALOT to offer. We have also found there has been to this date no good detailed map of this area, as far as small back roads & differentiating if they are dirt or paved. As we check out every road in the area we are finding twisty backroads that are labeled as dirt but are now freshly paved! Way cool. These small tight twisty roads (Texas Paved Trails) are similar to California's paved mountain trails (PMT).
Stay tuned for updates. This area/map will provide another winter riding option for mid-westerners, east coasters & mountain folk in addition to all those you love & ride this area throughout the year.
here's the cycle world article.
This is a pretty cool mapping project ya'll got goin. We've been listin some of our great little paved goodies on a Google map over the past year +
Only flags posted on the roads though....no highlighted routes. Here's a link to the Google map....
Although it's titled "Hill Country Dirt Roads, Texas Dual Sport Rides" I added many paved goodies to it after asking others involved whether the paved roads would be welcome with the DS crowd. Some other riders have added pics & video too. To my knowledge, folks have been usin it thus far as I've seen more riders on some of the roads listed than in the past.
I'll welcome another map venue to choose from.....
thanks for the info! i saw you over in the texas forum. you seem to be the man in these parts. i'll pass this along. you guys gotta lot of good ones to enjoy down there! i'll pm ya when this gets closer.
What would be even better is paved roads that have been freshly turned to dirt....if ya' know what I mean.
not seeing that happen very often.
just sent you a pm with court's, justin's & scott's email addresses.
they'll be back next week for a final riding session and want to meet up with you and discuss notes, if possible.
I did a little loop up to Glen Rose/Bluffdale today..200+ miles from 12-5PM.
Hit some of the really nice pavement in the northern hills. Hope ya'll can include some of these whether in the same map or in another separate one for the more northerly goodies. Looking forward to meeting Court,Justin & Scott & riding if time /weather permits. Bill...I guess you won't be down here but I look forward to meetin you some time soon....
Justin Bradshaw has written some article for Outrider Journal about his RTW trip w/ his dad.
