    Hi all,

Do you have any recommendations for roads within the general vicinity of the campout? We're heading down from the Skyline Drive area on the F800 and the DRZ. We're looking to do forest roads, nothing too crazy. Just trying to mark down stuff to explore while we're out there. Thinking about Dunkle Hollow Rd, Long Run Rd, and checking out Reddish Knob so far. I appreciate any tips.

Runkle's Gap/Cub Run Rd is very close to Blooch's and makes a good short loop.

The loop goes by Catherine Furnace. You come out at Newport on US-340.

Just a note...I haven't been on any of following in a couple of years.

Dunkle is very rocky in places, nothing very technical, just rocky.

Except this section about 3/4 of the way through(if you come in from US-33). This I would consider a little technical and rocky. :D

Hall Spring Rd. is only open in the Fall, usually opened Oct. 1. It's at the end of Long Run.

    It's mostly easy 2 track.

    Vepco Rd.(FR-240)

Rocky, but not as rocky as Dunkle(IMO). Can be combined with Long Run, the other end is at Little Dry River Rd.

If you do Vepco from Long Run, when you get to Little Dry River you can go right to get out to SR-259/211and back across the Valley through New Market.

Or....if you want to keep going north and/or west, give me an hour or two and I'll add some more.

Here's a Garmin .gdb file that includes Long Run, Vepco, Toms Park, German River, Camp Run, and Westside Roads. Probably 80% gravel. It is a loop from US-33 in Dayton to US-33 in Brandywine.

Toms Park Ln/German River Rd are rocky in places but not very technical. Taking a right at Camp Run/Bergton Rd will take you to SR-259.

And...there are numerous creek crossings on the above routes, they are usually pretty low, if not dry, this time of year.

That was a few years ago judging from the mounted truck box on the hack. Maybe 4-5 years ago?

That was from the first Camp Cow Crap(or the second one), 2011 or 2012?

I'll look through my archive later and get an actual date.
