Rode past Boyer Station 2 weekends ago. It was at least 9:30am and the resturant was closed. I wonder if there is a problem? Iv'e stayed there before. Didn't see a bar.
The Restrite campground hosted alot of the Factory race teams during the golden years of Blackwater 100. I'm not suggesting the Restrite, just mumbling out loud. Davis would be a great location though.
this one looks good: camp, cabins and motel
is for sale, but places like this don't move fast...
For Sale......I thought we brought up buying Stations Inn last year?
at least this place seems to have a septic system
Here's another spot...
Was too close to Laural Springs but with RDV moving west it should not conflict.
Sparta NC. Alleghany Inn
again there is camping about a mile North
I love the Watkins Glen area. Lots of touristy things to do but IMHO the riding in the area is more cruiser oriented. Mostly scenic rides around the Finger Lakes. Gentle sweepers is all you get. No technical roads that I have been able to find without riding 60+ miles to the south towards Galeton of all places. Plus with no camping on site, it will segregate the campers from the motelers, not ideal for our group.
I know it is tough to find both bed and tent space at the same venue, which is why we keep coming back to Marlinton and Galeton.
As always, I will do my best to attend where ever it is held.
cabins, bunks and camping (with bathhouse) in WV: Thorn Springs Park
Canaan Valley is a great place to hold an event. They love motorcyclists there and I have attended a couple of events. Restaurant and bar on site, but no camping near the lodging which would splinter the group. If everyone wanted to stay in rooms, I am sure Canaan Valley would be very accomadating. No shortage of great roads in the area.
Ohhhh Me likey
Franklin is doable
and it has a pavilion to rent - but somebody would have to do some leg-work
found some pics:
somebody = me. on it.
I like the idea of everyone on the same property.
Maybe I can convince myself to take some surveillance photos on the way to Vermont.
Wow, Thorn Spring Park looks really cool. I'll be over that way sometime in the next month or two, will have to take a look.
That would help me alot dox. four eye's better than two
I will not be able to get down there until 9/27, or on the way down to Blooch's, but will check it out, as well.
have a phone call in but no response
This does look really nice. We could use the kitchen maybe too. Turns out we have some really good cooks in the ranks!http://www.pendletoncounty.net/LZpages/page-thorn.htm
